No, Star Fire is an Exidy arcade game - www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT73nUNtfd0I think it was only a cockpit cabinet, I would play it every chance I got back in the day. I liked that it had a lever for forward/reverse though some cabinets the lever was worn out and would fall down into reverse so you had to play with your hand on it to keep it up in forward setting. I'd like to see Star Fire worked on to include the target lock and to have an overlay for that portion, too.

No, Star Fire is an Exidy arcade game - Two games of the same name, or actually John's game is "Star Fire Spirits". I think it was only a cockpit cabinet, That's the only version I ever saw and played. Still play a game of it at my local annual gaming expo, as a guy always brings his in.

Yeah, Star Fire Spirits is much closer to "Star Wars" than it is "Star Fire".

YouTube videos don't show anything past the Tie Fighter level in Star Fire. Is there more to Star Fire. The first level of Johns is definitely Star Fire but the rest seems to mimic Star Wars.

True it is a little closer to Star Fire in that respect but only really because it lacks the animation and movement to the tie fighters from 'Star Wars'. It also lacks the bonus ship and 'lock on' from Star Fire if the first stage is meant to clone it. The other Star Wars stages are simplified in this way too though. IIRC Star Fire only has the one stage.

Do you mean the original Star Fire by Exidy arcade game or Star Fire Spirits from Dondzila? Star Fire just seems to be a shooter in free space, but Star Fire Spirits is still a clone of the Atari vector Star Wars, as the second area has the surface run where you blow up bunkers and shoot the tops off laser towers, then there's the final area where you fly down the trench to blow up "Dark Planet" (the Death Star in that version).
