I was wondering if anyone has played any of these, as I just posted in regards to the online/downloadable versions in another thread. Play the official ColecoVision or 2600 ports (good luck finding the special joystick for the latter nowadays!)? How about the Vic-20 clone?
I played the Omega Chase clone on a Vectrex emulator once; can't say I have the cartridge. The middle shape changes every few levels if I remember correctly, changing the strategy for the game. Pretty groovy!

Thanks for the info about the Vic-20 version VectorX!! I have to check dig up some more info.
I totally agree about the special joystick. Been trying to find a reasonable priced one.

Yeah for the Vic and/or C-64 stuff they either did ports or clones (like Radar Rat Race instead of Rally-X). I think the Vic-20 version was supposed to be pretty good.

I have a hand full of Vic-20 games mostly text games. I have Radar Rat Race and it is a nice change from RallyX even if it is the same game.
Since I have the Coleco and 2600 versions of Omega Race it is also nice to hear about other versions. Sometimes the same theme gets old and needs a change in game play even if it is just changing the graphics a little.

I have Omega Race for the CV, 2600 and C64. They're all good but I don't like how you're ship barely moves when you thrust in the 2600 port.
It may seem dumb, but I like the fact that you can change the screen colors in the C64 version. And in the CV version I like all the game options you can choose.

This IS cool though, I think. At least they did something with that (even though minor), as I don't think there was much of an excuse for, say, a powerful computer (as compared to most consoles back then) couldn't do much with the Space Invaders genre, such as TI Invaders vs. all the variations that the 2600 Space Invaders had.
There were just two skill levels to choose from and that was it. Still a good game though, as the bonus round with the u. f. o.s was a bit different.

Maybe this has been out for a while, but this is the first I've heard of the Genesis homebrew port of Omega Race:
