Not a lot to report here except it has a name and the start of a title screen. Though a recent post in the Warrior thread suggests a possible solution to my clipping issue with the scrolling playfield - Using an overlay to hide the raggedness. Original thread is here: Not sure what this is going to be - But I likes itAttachments:Incursion.bin (24.25 KB)

On real hardware I can only move to the right of the screen and no other direction, is that right? The screen doesn't scroll and quite quickly the squares broke up and eventually the screen became almost blank with a few lines at the edge!
Big fan of this sort of top down game, Armor Attack is a big fave so would love to see this one as it develops.

Hrm, no, you should be able to move and shoot in all directions (assuming no walls in the way) - Are you using dual joysticks?

Ah no, only one joystick... I'll retry with 2!
All good with 2 joysticks! Really like the scrolling, not many games with it in really. I think the clipping looks fine fwiw.

I think the clipping looks fine fwiw. Top and bottom lines appear/disappear before the vertical lines. Plus shapes which are partially offscreen look open ended. That is solveable by adding permanent, stationary horizontal lines at top and bottom but that clashes with scrolling - maybe if it could be another colour - and just looks like it should be part of the scroll too or that the screen doesn't scroll. I think overlay could completely fix that by creating a frame that isn't actually part of the screen.
