NB New to my thread? The lists are always newer as the thread goes on.
My first post here!
The Vectrex is just a little bit before my time but I have just recently gotten in to it via emulation and I am very impressed with the playability of the thing. I do realise that the real thing is going to play and look a lot better in the flesh but in Tokyo/Japan they are genuinely rare and expensive. Furthermore, the 2 or 3 I have seen in the last 12 years have all been behind glass in shops, fully boxed brand new which makes playing one even more difficult.
I definitely would love to buy the real thing now.
But before I do I would like to complete my ROM collection ready for a Vectrex Flashcart of sorts, some of the titles I simply can't track down. I'm not sure of the rules here regarding the sharing of ROMs so please forgive me if I have broken any. If anyone can point me in the right direction of where to find the following that have been dumped I would be so grateful. Also if you help me cross off the games that have not been dumped from the list below I can give up chasing them.
GAMES:

Welcome! Good luck in trying to get a real Vectrex! .--. .- -. --.. . .-. (The Actual Title) Ave Maria! Brecher Flak Fresssakk Inkubationszeit Irrelevant Kolonie Lichtbringer Menshenjagd N.B.Z. N.E.L.S. Obsolet Schiffe Versenken Sternenkrieger Untot Vectrex Roli-Das Spiel Volgelfutter VecFahren VecFahren 2000 Z4HL3N R473N Zufallstreffer All of these were done by Der Luchs. Several of them are available. You can try PMing him and he can set you up with several of them. Several aren't finished or released though. 3D Lord Of The Robots (3D Imager) Continuum (Sector-X III) (3D Imager?) Hexed! I, Cyborg Royal 21 Sectis (Sector-X II) (3D Imager?) Sector-X (3D Imager?) Sector-X IV (3D Imager?) Sector-X V (3D Imager?) Sundance War Of The Worlds-Time Rift Warrior Zantis Zantis-99 Ways To Die All of these were done by FURY. Several are available to download here: furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1m3_1.htmThe ones at the bottom section you can't. Sector-X 4 and Warrior are only in the process of being released and aren't available for download. There isn't a Sector-X 5. There were very few copies of Zantis--99 Ways To Die and War of the Worlds-Time Rift and aren't available for download/you'd have to try to get them elsewhere, like ebay. Bombenhagel (Madtronix Multicart) Multicart-exclusive only. Colorclash & Xudoku (Colorclash Slim) Shifted Vectrex-Hockey Vectoblox 3D Scape Cart These were done by the same guy. Try contacting him here to see about availability. Deathchase Nox Solar Wars Joust Evolution None of these are finished, although Deathchase and Nox are expected to be at some point. Very few copies of the binary for S. Wars and Joust Evolution exist. I think I have this one; let me check... Omega Chase Deluxe (Omega Chase+Zap) Protector LE (20k Unlocks Spike Goes Down) Spinnerama (Atari 2600 Driving Controller Multicart) Spike's Circus These were limited edition and can only be bought elsewhere, like ebay. However, O. Chase and Spinnerama might be re-released in the future. To be re-released at some point from Packrat Video Games. Available from Kristof Tuts. You can get that here. You can get that here. There's most of them!

Welcome, japjac, to the Vectorgaming forum! If you intend to put MANY binaries on one Flashcart, make sure you get a VecMulti from Richard Hutchinson (but I guess you know the VecMulti, already). Every now and then you see a Bandai/Kousokusen game sold at ebay, and I always wondered whether there are Vectrex fans in Asia / Japan. Very nice to have one here. If you should happen to be a gamer make sure you join the next year's Vector War - this would make the Vector War even more international. :-) Good luck finding the ROMs and best regards!

Thank you very much hcmffm. Hopefully I will have a real machine by then! So I can join in the fun. I was UK Champion on a couple of Japanese MD games as a teen in the late 80s so watch out for my skillz! Cheers.

Be welcome japjacLot of history and stuff around the little Vectrex If you can´t find a not-very-expensive Vectrex in Japan, maybe you could look for one in the USA/Canada market, because of the similarities of the plug and voltage. However, european vectrex has different plugs, and you´d need an external electric transformer. Greetings from Spain EDITED: I just saw your vectorgaming.proboards.com/thread/1492/wanted-vectrex-console-version-neogeo thread Good luck in the quest!

Ah, Japjac, welcome here (you may vaguely recognise me from NTSC-UK/Bordersdown) Can't fault your taste in discovering the Vectrex heh, as I've been a fan since 1999. I think VectorX has most of it covered, the vast majority of the list has never been made available as downloads, and is physical release only. Some of the games are physical but the downloads made available over time, such as FURY. None of the Revival Studios games will ever be made available to download afaik.

In general i do not think it is a good idea to contact the authors to ask for ROMs. .. I guess i don't understand why you need to have a digital copy of every single game in advance of getting the console?
.. I notice you got a response already about Protector LE. But just to clarify, there is a non-LE version of Protector still currently available in cartidge form, (no ROM of that verison either). .. There may or may not be other things missing or not fully accounted for but i only mention this one because Protector is such a great game and also thankfully still being produced.

Welcome to VGF! You've definitely come to the right place to get more info about the Vectrex, as I'm sure you've noticed!

Getting back to MonStorm, I didn't have that after all (it was the Fred Taft hack I had that I was thinking of).
If I remember correctly, a couple of copies of that were sold in some auctions in the past year or two. I don't know if the ROM was dumped/made available to the public though.

centaura-Thanking you. Got my heart set on a USA version as it is a USA format, so I'm assuming it will have to be a non-buzz modded one. Can't be doing with faffing around with voltages either.
Mayhem-I don't I'm afraid but I wish you well.
gliptitude-Because the best stuff for the machine is homebrew in my opinion and I might as well use the time in the interim of getting a machine to sample as many games as I can. I will actually play it see, and appreciate it even more on real hardware. There's nowt wrong with trying to find the best a format has to offer. It's called taking a keen interest and half the fun is digging in to the obscure and not just the well-known homebrew stuff that everyone know of which ain't always necessarily the best.
TrekMD-You're not wrong there.
VectorX-Bless you for checking and getting back to me, I appreciate it.
Musings from a newbie:
I read somewhere that in the case of the retail games for the Vectrex, the license holders made them available for the public domain, for free, a long time ago.
Therefore, I find it somewhat unjustly hypocritical that some makers of homebrew games (physical) for the Vectrex seem a little precious about their games being distributed for free. Although I am so grateful for their efforts and admire their creative talents, to be crude, they are at the end of the day producing unlicensed counterfeit products for profit, regardless of how old the hardware is. Are they profit sharing with said license holders of the Vectrex today? I doubt it.
It's quite a unique scene in this respect I feel.
Cheers.
