Had a bit of a surprise when my copy of Skeleton+ came in the mail today (thanks, Helmut, for the Vector War prizes ) and I found where it said in the instructions that stereo sound was recommended with one of the difficulty variations. So, I was wondering what other 2600 homebrews had stereo sound capabilities. A bit late in hearing about this feature (since this game came out in 2003!), I know, but it's the first I've heard of it.

I don't know the answer but I have an AV modded 2600 and it kind of changes every game into stereo sound. I guess there are two sound channels and the way the mod was done each channel is a seperate line out. I'm not sure if all stereo 2600's work this way or not. .. I'm pretty sure you have to have a modified console in order to get stereo sound. .. Skeleton is the only game I've heard of using stereo sound. There are probably others but with Skeleton it is not just an aesthetic thing and I doubt there is another game for which that is the case.
I like to play old consoles on small tube tv's. But I haven't figured out a good setup with my VCS yet because the small TV's usually just have one AV audio input. So on the modded Atari I only get half the sound, on most games have to choose between hearing myself shooting or hearing the enemies explode. .. So i have the sound going through a stereo instead.

I'm pretty sure you have to have a modified console in order to get stereo sound. .. Right... There are probably others but with Skeleton it is not just an aesthetic thing and I doubt there is another game for which that is the case. Yeah, trying to figure out where the next Skeleton is really adds to the game with the sound. No way in hell I'm trying the difficulty switch setup where your motion sensor is turned off and you have to rely on sound alone in order to try to find them! The instructions says stereo sound is recommended there, which I don't have.
