A few weeks ago I decided I wanted to buy one of the consoles I always wanted as a kid, the ColecoVision. Through Google searches I came across a website called AtariAge and stumbled upon the YurkiVision. A completely refurbished / Composite Video Modded ColecoVision. Here is what the work performed by Yurkie entails: Console:- Power Switch rebuilt
- Cartridge Slot thoroughly cleaned with DeoxIT
- Any bad/faulty solder joints re-soldered
- Single jack A/V composite mod
Controllers:- Housings and cords cleaned
- Joystick directional controllers refurbished
- fire button dissembled and refurbished
- Keypad and keypad socket cleaned
Options included:- replacement ball knobs on joysticks
- cords straightened
- socketed intro skip BIOS
- pause button mod
I also had Yurkie add the Socketed Intro skip BIOS. Pressing the fire button on the controller skips the title screen and goes to the game select screen on Coleco released games with the annoying 12 second title screen. I can press the fire button any time to skip to game select screen or wait for the title screen to come up. Yurkie also added the Pause Button Mod, which pauses and mutes sound on all games. It does not have any effect when using Expansion Module #1 (Atari Module) This is because the Atari module is basically an Atari 2600 console that uses the ColecoVision for power and A/V connection. $35 The units were pretty damn clean when I received them, but I've spent many hours fine detailing these babies. These puppies are about as clean as you can get a +30 year old Colecovision or it's accessories. (no Armour-All used either)If anyone would like to purchase the awesomeness that is the YurkiVision, just click on the link below: http://www.atariage....day-april-24th/I love Brab's custom dust covers, I have them for my Intellivision, ColecoVision, ColecoVision Roller Controller, ColecoVision Expansion Module #1, and NES. Buying some for my Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast. Here is here eBay store: papa*nannysfunstuffMore pics to follow...

Great-looking units once more How well did that roller controller work? A friend of mine had a ColecoVision (I'll eventually have one myself, no room right now where I presently live) but he didn't have one. I never heard how good (or bad, or somewhere in between) those were.

A friend of mine had a ColecoVision (I'll eventually have one myself, no room right now where I presently live) but he didn't have one. I never heard how good (or bad, or somewhere in between) those were. My roller controller was refurbished by a member on AtariAge that goes by the username; Yurkie. It is in very nice condition. I have another one that should be here in the next few days, that is CIB. Anxious to see how it compares to my Yurkie Refurb. I HIGHLY suggest you either have Yurkie Refurbish/Mod your existing unit or buy a unit from him that has already been refurbed/modded. The guy does top-notch work. I edited my first post to reflect what has been done to my YurkieVision.

I edited my first post to reflect what has been done to my YurkieVision. Yes, thanks for that. I was wondering what on earth this "YurkieVision" meant. Also, very nice mods! The pause mod is a bit like the later released Vectrex Star Ship with the added pause button (which one would YOU rather have, that or the original Star Trek without the pause button?). And skipping out on the title screen definitely saves time. That used to drive me nuts back in the day!

RedRaider has anything been done with the power supply or has the video mod cured that?
My TV picture problems with Coleco have been because of the power supply. When I bought the floor brick model from Canada that helped alot.

Another thing could be the rf box, as Coleco stupidly used to put oil in them, which, decades later, they would be caked up. There's a simple fix for it though, and possibly they redid those later for all I know (like the rare, "quiet" Vectrex).

I like the expansion 1 box. Very clean. Mine has a big JC Penny sticker on it as well as a $79.99 price tag.
Steering wheel and Action Controllers are sweet. I should get my Steering wheel fixed it never worked right or was that left.
Very Nice!!

I picked that Expansion #1 CIB up off eBay last week for $25, heck of a good deal IMHO.
Actually the Super Action Controller box is the best of the bunch. If the Roller Controller box didn't have that minor tear in it, it would be mint as well.
In regards to my PSU, it is a NOS PSU. If you buy a system from Yurkie, he gives you the option to swap PSU's for a $10 fee.
