I am slowly but surely photographically cataloging my very humble collection of Classic Consoles. Up next is my 100% functional Fairchild Channel F System II. I purchased this earlier this year and feel I got a heck of a deal. It came CIB (box isn't all buggered up) and was actually pretty clean, then after I gave it the RedRaider treatment, it looks brand spanking new! I have four CIB games that also were included in the purchase. I recently bought a loose cart from a member at AtariAge.

Holy *(! That looks like it came off the assembly line yesterday!
How many games were made for it?
What are those slots in the back, for the controllers and/or carts?
What do you think of the games so far? The closest I've played to one of those would be an old Pong system or the Odyssey 2.

It does look damn good, for a unit made in 1979 doesn't it. There were 26 official games released. That is where you wrap the controller cords and store the controllers. It is basically a glorified Pong. What makes it special is the fact this is the system that changed the game, it was the innovator that jump started Atari, Mattel, Coleco, etc... Here is the wiki: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairchild_Channel_F#section_2The copy I found is unbelievable. CIB, all paperwork for system and the CIB games, box itself is in excellent condition. Not pictured is the RF original converter, which is also in unbelievable cosmetic condition.

Sounds like it might not've been used much

I don't believe it was. The person I bought it from in Beaumont, told me he was the original owner, as he got it as a gift when he was young.

Was that keyboard add-on actually released? Is that real rare nowadays?

I do not believe so. Unlike Mattel who finally released theirs, I'm not sure when Zircon took possession of Fairchild they ever followed thru with that release.
