Actually this is hard for me to answer personally, since there were a lot of them I never played on personal computers and all. Heck, even some of the Atari 2600 (which I had) ones I never played, such as the Asteroids clone of Suicide Mission (although I have the Supercharger) or Omega Race (good luck with trying to find that special included joystick nowadays!).
It seems like the arcade ports of Star Wars didn't have that good a job done with them. Supposedly the best version is the Atari 8-bit one, although no Darth Vader T. I. E. Fighter is included (?) in the first segment of the game. I saw a video for the 5200 version of it, and geez, there didn't seem to be any times where the camera view changed to the point where you were right behind one T. I. E. Fighter like on the arcade original, desperately trying to destroy it before another one appeared during the later rounds while the first one was shooting fireballs out the butt; here there were several onscreen and they just flew in at like 45 degree angles or something, which was pretty wrong.
It seems like Star Trek fared a bit better, just minus a spinner control so you could whip the Enterprise around quickly to destroy something. I played the TI-99 4/a version of it that a friend had and it was pretty good.
And Atari 2600 Tac/Scan with only the first part of the game included? Geez...it would've been nice to see what they could have done with that on something more powerful and able to handle an (somewhat) imitation 3-D stage or two, like on the 5200.
Anyway, getting back to the topic's question, 2600 Asteroids was still fun, just flip the difficulty switch up to the A position so the asteroids would fly off at angles and the bonus saucers would come out. And the 7800 version was even better, with the two player simultaneous option
