Nice write-up. Surprising that the current "Atari" (since they're NOT Atari!) finally learned that many of the compilations over the years have been crap. Something to finally take note of, people... And such a perfect way to end the article too: "Sometimes I need a break from playing games with a controller with 14 different buttons, dual analog sticks, and full motion control. Just holding a simple joystick, knowing that I can master a game using one button, brings comfort to me.
"In a complicated world, you need a little dose of simplicity."Amen to that Plus none of those games had an instruction book of even a dozen pages, much less a hundred or more of them either, like some complicated games nowadays do.

I could not put it better VectorX.
I also like how it was the fans words instead of someone who has never played before they were given the assignment.

(laughs!) No sh*t! Even though only a very condensed history of Atari it was done fairly decently. I'd say either they knew a fair amount about Atari or maybe they just knew to ask the right questions.

Another good read thanks TrekMD! Some things I never new about the later Atari computers. Always wanted a 520 or 1040 but stuck with Commodore.

Funny thing mentioning the Swordquest sword. I never knew there actually was one. Sounds like an urban myth that it was buried somewhere, but who knows?

Now Yahoo has their own story too: look quick, since their links usually disappear in no time flat! games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/happy-40th-birthday-atari-184349799.htmlGeez, now I'm starting to feel depressed But I guess I can nitpick to try to keep my mind off of that, since they did NOT "introduce[d] the world to Pong", that was Magnavox. Bushnell stole it from them. Too small an article though, either way. But at least the retards are out in force, as per usual: I remember paying $29.99 for a Game, playing it for less than 3 Mintues and throwing it away. They only made like 10 decent games and 490 Horrible Ones.thats why they failed and went bankrupt Idiot!
