I see that some people are disappointed with the quality of box cart and overlay, but don't forget its a homebrew. It takes furyunlimited quite a lot of time to ship all - so it seems to be quite time consuming for him putting all together.
I prefer to have it like this than a loose pcb in a VHS clamshell.
About the size of the box - it does not fit into my vectrex box protectors. The box is bigger. Is the size Atari standard? Will it fit into atari box protectors?

Interestingly I was supposed to get #042 but it appears I have cart #041 I see your box has some of the same issues mine has -- it's not quite a box at the corners but seems to be unfolding and flattening. I've never really been pleased with any homebrew cardboard boxes though. I'd rather a VHS clamshell or rental NES type of box. The box I got some time ago was fine. Maybe you don't buy many homebrews but the boxes that AtariAge uses for their boxed games are excellent, as are the boxes made by Freelancer (I've bought mostly Atari 5200 boxes from him) - www.freelancer-games.com/atari-us.phpThe cart case has been 3D printed but it's still kind of rough around the edges -- kind of disconcerting when small chunks flake off when you insert the cart. I'll reserve judgement on the game itself for later. Warrior certainly didn't set the coin-op vector gaming world on fire -- it's no Star Castle or Tempest. I'm curious why you would buy a boxed game that isn't all that cheap if you're that underwhelmed by the game to begin with. It's one of my favorite vector arcade games so I'm biased, but if I thought it was average or weak I wouldn't buy the homebrew of it. You must not be rabid or crazy yet. ;-)

You must not be rabid or crazy yet. ;-) Well, my attitude towards Vectrex collecting has changed a little in the *three years* since I bought into this game. George's other Cine/Vectorbeam conversions turned out reasonably well -- Sundance is brilliant, WoTW was a turkey that didn't make it out of the prototype stage and George made it at least interesting and playable. So I took a chance on Warrior and was intrigued by what he would do with the single player mode. The box and overlay were along for the ride since there wasn't an option to leave them out. Then Fury started to do some things I considered questionable -- creating expensive limited ebay only editions of games that included cheap and sh*tty Chinese watches, announcing new games and controllers before Warrior shipped, dwinding updates on the status of Warrior -- and finally refusing what I considered to be reasonable requests for refunds on a game that was taking longer to ship than the entire time the Vectrex console was on the market. So excuse my underwhelming reaction to the quality of a final product I had no choice but to accept in the end because I couldn't get a refund even if I wanted one. I used to try and get most homebrew Vectrex games partially for the collecting aspects but also to support those who actually go and do what is a thankless chore that doesn't make them very much money. Your digs at 'rabid' or 'crazy' collectors are tiresome. It's still trolling even if you postscript them with a smiley.

I don't think making a joke is "trolling". He also does more than post about collectors, although those posts might seem to stand out more to you. I haven't really noticed them.

I don't think he would, but no point in speaking for him until he gets here. I've not known him to do malicious posts unless they go over my head.

If you have followed and read my posts here, and around the net, you would have surely recognized I was poking fun at myself and the other rabid, crazy, and crazy rabid collectors. Sure my comments are snarky and sometimes more than a little dripping with sarcasm. Was the dig off topic in the overall sense? Think about how patient most of us have been waiting for this title. Also consider I purchased a couple of copies a while back. Am I / are we crazy? Depends how you look at it. Am I rabid? Tell me after you see me stuffing my face into that cappuccino cup with the sunrise. I'll be at Here Comes The Sun Coffeehouse tomorrow morning if you want to drop by to take a pic and post it. In every case I am willing to have my own comments delivered on the end of a pointed stick turned and poked right back at me. I know you (robocelot) have been in the crowd for a while like the rest of us. So maybe a I was little too familiar with the comment I hoped you would take as humor. Sorry for annoying you. I apologize. Truly. Like you, I have seen George's work over time. I tend to look at his titles and packages with a couple of different eyes. Some are critical in a less flattering manner. Sometimes just disappointment at having missed out on titles and products with limited runs. And sometimes positive for the interesting way George has approached and solved his problems. But with every item Fury Inc produces I am glad George took the time out of his life to contribute to our community. Even when there are points that could be improved I love the fact those results, both paid and unpaid, have been sent out for us to experience and enjoy. Bravo George! Stay Furious! ;-) BTW, I think your theme titles with watches are both cool, and suck a little, at the same time. Excellent work on the packaging. Love them overall. There are also points I would like you to change on the Warrior packaging. Some easy. Some not easy to change. But I could also say the same about work some others have produced in the past, and are currently producing. If anyone has a problem with George's products talk with him about it. I have found George to provide good support in the past for items he has sold. Even going beyond what could be considered reasonable support when needed to provide the extra bit you might not expect. Just remember that he has a life outside the Vectrex like we all do. So responses may be delayed at times. If you have not yet produced a product for the Vectrex, or any other platform, then I encourage and welcome your attempts to do better that George has done to date. Or do anything at all. Even if your attempt fails to meet parity with the efforts of another. Even if you fail to produce any result you can sell I am sure the time spent will end up carrying some non-monetary value for yourself, and perhaps others as well. Update: Sighted rabid collector in its natural habitat.

I didn't get in a comment earlier, but knowing Chris over the years, I knew he was being deprecating because he's arguably the biggest collector and voice in the Vectrex community. I'm in that group. I know I'm a bit crazy! You don't have to point it out to me heh. And that's what the comments were about. A small subsection of any community are the uber intensive fanatics, and often that's where all the good stuff that used to be hidden, and preservation comes from as well.

OMG, Chris you're hilarious! I like the rabid photo. Hope you didn't burn your face. I'm just now catching up on this thread, but I can confirm the humor was obvious to me. I think most people in this scene know you're one of the most - if not the most - rabid Vectrex collector out there. So I guess the saga is finally over? All 61 cartridges have been shipped. What a strange relief. Over 2 1/2 years since the first Warrior went out, and even longer since the preorders ended. I'm glad it ended well. Despite the frustration, I will still pre-order Tailgunner when the time comes. I just noticed he has a retirement date of 2033 in his footer. That's new, to me anyway. I probably wouldn't preorder too close to that date, heh.

All 61 cartridges? I thought George had taken pre-orders on the game of over 200...?

150, I do believe. I think it was originally 100 and then he added 50 more. Or maybe its been so long our memories are fading

150, which, as the Fury website states, is supposed to be shipped all by the end of November.
There are still Hellhole pre-orders that people are waiting on and maybe even Overdrive controllers.

Ah yes, I couldn't remember if it was 200 and then an extra 50, or 100 first.
And yes, no movement on Hellhole yet, but we'll get them eventually, and the included controller. The website says shipping from the end of this month. Ditto the Yeti.
Anyone got their issue #3 of Vectorbolt yet?
