Just thought I'd bring issue 119 of Retro Gamer to everyone's attention. This issue has a 6-page article celebrating the Jaguar's 20th Anniversary! Definitely worth checking out. There's also a nice article celebrating Q*Bert!

Just thought I'd bring issue 119 of Retro Gamer to everyone's attention. This issue has a 6-page article celebrating the Jaguar's 20th Anniversary! Definitely worth checking out. There's also a nice article celebrating Q*Bert! I've known one or two dedicated collectors who insist that there's gold to be found in the Jaguar library if only people were open-minded enough to search for it. Some of the cartridge games look nice, and there are a few CD titles that would be fun to collect. But the likelihood of finding a working Jaguar CD attachment is so miniscule that the rewards barely justify the effort. If nothing else, it makes an interesting conversation piece for gamers; Atari wrote such a peculiar chapter in video game history when they built the Jaguar. Did you know that the Jaguar design was actually sold to Imagin Systems to manufacture dental equipment? I noticed that the issue features an article on Counter-Strike. If you have any interest in PC gaming, I would advise you to check it out. Counter-Strike was one of the most successful Half-Life mods in the late-1990s, and it arguably changed the face of PC gaming as it brought tech-savvy fans and amateur programmers that much closer to the inner circles of the gaming industry. Their influence was felt for many years.

You can find working Jaguar CD units. In fact, you can still find new ones at Best Electronics. So finding a functioning one doesn't have as minuscule a chance as you think.
