As the PS2 games start to pile up, I think about all the games I've started but never completed. I have a terrible habit of putting an earnest effort into finishing a game only to be sidetracked by something else. On the NES, for instance, I put several hours into playthroughs of Crystalis, Final Fantasy, and Metroid, but they're still sitting on the shelf waiting to be finished. On the Sega Genesis, I need to beat Shining Force II and Phantasy Star II. (My original PSII save file was corrupted, though, and I'm hesitant to start a new one.) On the Super Nintendo, I still want to complete my playthroughs of Breath of Fire II, Secret of Evermore, and 7th Saga, though the latter one started to get a little difficult for my tastes. I'm nearly finished with Final Fantasy V on the PlayStation; for some reason, I set the game down near the end. (I did the same thing with Final Fantasy X ten years ago.) Other notables include Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask on the Nintendo 64, Resident Evil on the GameCube, and Donkey Kong Country Returns on the Wii.
I've got winter break to make a dent in the collection, but who am I kidding? There's only so much time. How about you guys? Any games you've been holding off on finishing?

As the PS2 games start to pile up, I think about all the games I've started but never completed. Well, you keep on buying and more and games, for one thing! I never came close to finishing Willy Beamish on the Sega CD, as it's really slow in load times. I think I know what to do to get past my current area, but I've been playing other stuff. It's been on hold for over 10 years, although some of that has been due to forgetting. Ecco: the Tides of Time for the same system, as the last level I'm stuck on is weird as hell and makes no sense: you're a dolphin swimming through the air (it seems to be) in a series of buildings? Say what? The Depths of Doom Trilogy, but what the hell, it has over 3000 levels, a lot of which are NOT worth it, and feel like more of a chore than a game to go through (I only give that release a 5 out of 10, as many of the levels do not feel like Doom at all, and many of them just flat-out aren't any fun). Another one that I've been doing on and off for over 10 years, although I think I'm on the WADs in the letter 'l' right now.

As the PS2 games start to pile up, I think about all the games I've started but never completed. Well, you keep on buying and more and games, for one thing! That's true. During the school year, I find myself more in the role of the collector than gamer: I don't have the time to play games with the intent to finish them, but I do have time to scout eBay for deals. Next semester, the workload should be a bit lower and I'll probably have time to slip in more hours of gaming between study sessions. Would be nice to finish some of the books I've been holding off on reading, too. During the semester, I stay away from books that aren't directly related to any of my classes. I can see why you'd put off the Doom levels. Since there are so many in that pack, you'd think the level designs would just start to blend together at some point!

^You have no idea how true that is, as, at times, you'll find the same levels over and over, as several people just dumped levels together that they didn't make themselves. Too bad id Software didn't pick that up and ditch those, since they supervised the release to some extent. (But then, over 3000 levels? They wouldn't have the time, I guess.)
