A little free game I knocked up today. It uses joystick/buttons or a spinner/atari driving controller in port 2. Press 4 on the Vectrex joystick to start. HEXa2.BIN (4.12 KB) - Updated with better joystick controls and Survival/Continue Modes. Survival Mode starts from the beginning. Continue Mode starts within 4 'levels' of your last game. 'Continue Mode' high scores are marked with an extra point to differentiate from those scored in Survival mode.

Nice, game. Too me it feels like Bedlam II ! In joystick mode, is the game reacting to analogue values? The only reason ask is because I think my joystick is slightly off (electrically). On my joystick, moving it left results in the player's ship rotating anticlockwise (but not continuosly). But when I move the joystick to the right, the player's ship rotates continuosly until I move the joystick to the left again, which then stops the player's ship spinning. I don't have that problem say in Mind Storm which is treating the joystick digitally. I don't see the continous rotating in the video, have I found a bug, or do I need to adjust the pots in my joystick?

Hi, thanks for the feedback. I am reading analog values...i'll make a larger deadzone to fix for off-centre sticks.
<edit> VectrexMad -I've made changes to the way the joystick works now and doubled the deadzone. Let me know how it's working for you now.

Hehe you both spotted the inspiration A friend showed me Super Hexagon last week, I thought I'd make a quick spinner-enabled variant.

Nice Now, possibly, adapt to be more like Super Hexagon? It's certainly an excellent start!

Really cool game, not familiar with the original but a great 'twitch' game.... the repetitive music really helps build up that zoned in feeling as it speeds up.
Kudos!

Really cool game, not familiar with the original Same here. As was posted earlier, it's like Bedlam in the look, which is why I was surprised there was a game before it, as I thought this was original or the levels of Bedlam are back for revenge!

I saw you mentioned about Chris Tumbers Frogger and how there are optimisation tips there. I must say your graphics look very stable.
