Just ran across this last night and added it to the first page of listings: timbartlett.net/asteroids-piHe created an Asteroids control panel that plays the game in MAME but in a much more compact unit than the original cabinet! And the side panels he carved out of wood are gorgeous! Don't expect any photos of the game in play though, it's mostly in regards to how he did it and got the electronics to work and such.

Funny to have two of these in one day! I added the Cinevectron link that ledzep mentioned this morning, as well as one a friend of mine just e-mailed me about earlier tonight: www.flickr.com/photos/69205803@N04/albums/72157709945233832There's hardly any content to it yet though, but it'll be in regards to his Star Wars project.

Hopefully new member stokesay will post soon, as he has Asteroids Deluxe, Battlezone, Star Castle and Star Wars cabs in his arcade collection, which I added to the post on the very first page of links. (Hey gliptitude ! Not vector, but he has Night Driver as well!)

Neat. I did finally play the arcade version last year at the Galloping Ghost near Chicago.

Hey, that's good! What did you think of it?

I think I prefer the 2600 version actually. The simplicity of it kind of adds up to a more robust mechanical feel compared to the arcade and I like playing the easiest track with the goal of a perfect game, never releasing the gas. The arcade was kind of physically strenuous and seemed like less feedback. Shifting was kind of cool but the pedals and steering wheel seemed like an obligation, (standing).

Noticed "Spike's Big Page" (https://www.atarihq.com/vectrex) on AtariHQ is down (suspended) along with the rest of the site. Fortunately there is another mirror still up on the Konfiskated Teknologies Network site. archive.kontek.net/vectrex.classicgaming.gamespy.com/#Spikes #Big #Page #SpikesBigPage #Vectrex

Thanks, I imagine several of these links are gone and need further archived links (the first post on this page is). I should spend some time looking around at others.
I updated it with two archived links, one of them being old, the other one being "newer", having links to these forums and Vectrex wiki and the like (possibly the last update that site will ever get).
