I was happy to find out yesterday per chance that Minionsoft is back! I was a fan of most of the guy's stuff and was disheartened that his site disappeared...for quite a while, and is now back. All of his vector remakes have been raster though, such as Asteroids and The Empire Strikes Back (the latter of which looks pretty cool though, and won first place in some kind of programming contest). He also redid the Atari Star Wars game, adding more speech samples to the first part of the game (although they can get annoying though), the towers are a little thicker (and look meaner!) during the second stage, and the graphics for the trench run are also pretty nifty. I gave the game an 8 out of 10 in a review a while back. As far as other games go, I didn't think much of Space Invaders (although he admitted it wasn't one of his best and he made it in a day, but Mk. II looks to be better though), but I liked Phoenix quite a bit (a remake that wasn't screwed up, say what?). He also did several other remakes that I've yet to try (any BBC Micro fans here?), along with the Mini Arcade, which is "Consisting of 8 (yes 8) games. All fully playable and all created in a 32×32 pixel play area." Cute. www.minionsoft.com/wordpress/

Don't forget Inzectoids - that's an original vector game. ...of the most frantic and high-intensity kind. He was working on it at the same time as I was working on Black Widow and I was worried that the two games would be too similar, due to both having insects in them, but I didn't have to worry - they play quite differently.

Thanks for the input. Yeah, just by that screenshot, it does look like it could be B. Widow, but luckily it wasn't And you can't tell everything just by one photo.
