I don't want to open up my Vectrex. If I get a test cart, can I adjust my screen size permanently, at least a little? My screen seems slightly big. I want to shrink it down about a half inch. I noticed it was too large when I play Vector Pilot. The 2nd players score on top of the screen in just barely outside of the screen. Is this possible? What would cause the screen to change sizes? My vectrex is pretty much like new. I suppose they all came out of the factory slightly different.

If I get a test cart, can I adjust my screen size permanently, at least a little? I don't think the cart itself will fix your Vectrex but I could be wrong. It's just a display/diagnostic tool I do believe. What would cause the screen to change sizes? Depends on the game and various other factors, such as the machine's age, as its capacitors can dry out and cause display problems. I suppose they all came out of the factory slightly different. Yeah all Vectrex displays can differ, hence why there's some games (Y* A* S* I, Sundance) that have screen calibrations to make up for possible vector drift.

you have to open it up to adjust it. if it's never been serviced a capkit can solve some display problems

There are two pots in the Vectrex that control x/y screen size. However you have to run the test cart size and distortion tests to make sure the vectors line up properly.
