I think this could be the reason of the slant line

I don't think so, this is 1012059 Looking at those screenshots side by side, the "drift" is pretty consistent. 1011913 is a little worse but all the others are quite close. Except my only "good" one. Which also happens to be my highest serial number MB machine: 1021676 The start-up screen on this machine does NOT have "GCE Entertaining New Ideas" just the Vectrex logo. ROM checksum is 7931 as opposed to B796 for my other Vectrex. So Maybe in addition to any BIOS changes, there was also a hardware change/improvement (or even just calibration tweak) that resulted in the newer units being more accurate? When I'm testing for drift (ie; to see if sprites are too complex or logos (&etc) need to be broken down into smaller parts), 1021676 is definitely my most reliable machine (shows the least drift).

My main Vectrex has a ROM checksum of 7931, and as such doesn't have "GCE Entertaining New Ideas" at boot up. The Model number is 3000-UI-UK, and serial number is U010700A. Attachments:

Well that's interesting. So much for my little theory!

Is yours HK or Taiwan? Maybe that's the difference? (My others are a mix but all B796 checksums). Maybe the BIOS was changed before the hardware? Too bad the serial numbers don't seem to align in any way.

The bin i sent it is tweaked to work with my faulty Vectrex: ROM=B746 - 3013113 - 3000GI-Euro - HongKong (the one that shows the same image as christopher´s 1021676). I will try to replace its MC1408 DAC. This tweaked bin draws three cycles more to the right than to the left. Attached is the symetrical version, that should show almost vertical in all not faulty Vectrex. This is how it shows in mine: pang5.bin (791 B) I think it is not completely vertical because the LF347 is not symetrical:

Today I have replaced the DAC and nothing has changed. I have solved the slanted text with the R335 pot.

I missed this thread having so many posts with wavy lines in it before, that looks cool if only it was more consistent across units!
