We've had a voucher drop through the letter box from 'Game' (that's a UK video game store) with an offer to upgrade any Nintendo DS to a 3DS for £49.99. Seems a pretty good deal. My 14 year old has a DS so we're gonna take 'em up on their offer. The DS appeals to me not one jot but the 3DS... mmm, might treat myself to the 'Street-fighter' game.
Anybody got one/played one?

Well we went out and got the 3DS tonight and would you believe it there was a pre-owned copy of Street-fighter on the shelf waiting for me to come along.
After a 45 minute session I've gone completely boss-eyed... but it was great fun getting there. The 3D effect is quite impressive. You get the feel of rather looking at a screen, you're looking into the screen... almost like the fighters are little people you're viewing inside a small box. My favourite character from all those years ago is still around - Dhalsim, the guy with the 20ft. arms - so I'm well pleased.
Oh, and the person it was bought for - my daughter - quite likes it too.

That sounds pretty cool! I'm curious on the N64 remakes, like Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D.

Having played the 3DS a bit more (when I can wrestle Streetfighter from my daughter), it definitely gives me some eye strain, and an ever so slight nauseous feeling. 10 or 15 minutes is about as much as I can take in one go. I wonder if this is presenting Nintendo a problem? Perhaps that's why Game were doing such a good offer. At £49.99, that's £100 off the list price. I wonder if one of the Nintendo exec's is sitting in an office in Japan going "Oh no, not another Virtual Boy".

I bought Resident Evil for my daughter (well... sort of for my daughter) for xmas. It was another pleasant PS1 memory for me. Unfortunately, if Streetfighter is a struggle for me to play for any length of time, R/E is virtually impossible... I start feeling sea-sick after about a minute.
Perhaps I'm just getting old.

I think it's the first person perspective coupled with the 3D. It just tips me over the edge.
