I'd like to ask if anyone would mind taking a look at the latest bin on a real Vectrex for me to see if this one behaves better than the released bin.
I'm still trying to cut back on the drift, this uses different drawing and scaling for the objects. Still looking at optimising the seesaw and man movement, but it looks like something close to this version will be hopefully going on the cartridge release. I've got a demo box all made up for this, and am just waiting to see what version of my current changes I'm going to put on the cartridge. Currently just got enough bits to make 10!
PM me if you would be happy to test the latest BIN on a real Vectrex. Although I don't really want this version released into the wild!

Your wish is my command, Garry. I just tested your two version and my decision is pretty clear: I prefer Version 2.
A short list with some pros and cons: Circus Version 1:+ Triangular blocks look better than the rectangular blocks - Lower framerate and thus more flicker.
- Intro: "G GRIERSON" overlaps with "GCE"
Circus Version 2:+ Higher framerate and less flicker and faster game --> More fun. Comments for both versions:· Impossible catch Sometimes the game is a bit unfair: If the right man is in the air and you have to catch him/her in the very left corner this is impossible. Suggestion: Limit the horizontal area of the flying man so that it's always possible to catch the flying man. · In-graphic animation I like the Spike-like graphics of the flying men. Both men are static graphics, i.e. the "sprites" move but do not change their design.
Suggestion: Would be cool if the flying men would be animated a bit. AFAIK, in the original arcade game they men are animated and wave with the arms which looked pretty cool and made them almost alive.
EDIT: Found a video of the arcade game "Circus". IIRC I saw this game in real life when I was young. At the top of the screen there was a coloured foil - just like the overlays for the Vectrex. And yes, the men are animated. · Flying man as fast as seesaw
Horizontal speed of flying man and seesaw is sometimes the same so you cannot catch up with the flying man. Suggestion: Make seesaw a bit faster than the maximal horizontal speed of the flying man. · Graphic of seesaw
Somehow the graphic of the seesaw looks a bit odd: The half of the seesaw which is down seems to be drawn with two lines while the other part seems to be drawn with one line. Suggestion: Check graphics and correct if possible (maybe it's just my Vectrex console.) - o -

· Impossible catch
Sometimes the game is a bit unfair: If the right man is in the air and you have to catch him/her in the very left corner this is impossible. You can 'flip' the seesaw by pressing any button on the controller. This should allow you to catch the man anywhere. Are you saying this isn't the case with you?
· Graphic of seesaw
Somehow the graphic of the seesaw looks a bit odd: The half of the seesaw which is down seems to be drawn with two lines while the other part seems to be drawn with one line. The seesaw line is overdrawn to make it brighter than the standing man, which is all the same graphic. On some systems this appears to drift, giving a double line. I may have to make this two different objects, seesaw line, and standing man. Un-Fortunately this looks fine when played on most emulators! Thanks for the feed back, it's much appreciated. The version I am going to release soon is just a slightly improved version of the original BIN on a cartridge, for those people who asked for it. But if I ever release full proper version I will definitely be taking what you said into consideration.

Was the actual game screen stable and relatively drift free in version two on your Vectrex?
Mine 'sometimes' appears quite shaky with quite a bit of drift when all objects are being displayed, but drift is becoming a big issue with my Vectrex in general!

Not quite sure what you mean when speaking of "drift". Screen was flickering due to the framerate but apart from that I didn't notice other issues.

By 'drift' I mean the vectors for the seesaw, man, and boxes not lining up/connecting properly. I've hopefully fixed the seesaw drawing issue now, will have to try i out on my vectrex again.
