How about a gameplay option that allows bullets to wrap around one border if fired outside? So you could fire diagonally up left and have the bullet appear on the right hand side of the screen still travelling upwards until it reached the top.

Hi all, As not everyone here is on the Facebook group I thought I'd start a thread here as my brother has posted a mock up of artwork for the next game from Vector Republic Coming 2017 ... probably Great ideas. Just noticed in the mock-up the word cassette instead of cartridge. Subtle wording change that I really like!

^That was used back in the day for non-U. S. Vectrex releases. (Where was that, France?)

if suggestions are welcome, it would be fun if there are some bonus icons which appear sometimes and then the players can see who can grab the icon first - perhaps one icon makes your opponent double in size for eg. 10 seconds so he is easier to hit or perhaps an icon which disables your opponents gun for eg. 10 seconds, so then u can chase him around for a bit as he tries to run and hide in a panic or an icon where again for eg. 10 seconds, you speed up a little..

If it hasn't been suggested already, how about a random animal to deal with? Like how Centipede would have bonus insects show up moving from one side to the other, maybe have a rattlesnake show up and be lethal, or at least damaging and the players have to avoid being touched/bitten and get points for shooting it? It could have a specific type of movement to it, too. And then maybe a coyote that's harder to kill or perhaps scorpions? Maybe a tumbleweed that rolls through and blocks shots (how can a tumbleweed block shots, but it's just a game). Also, maybe a bonus level (like Galaga or Star Trek: SOS) with a maze made out of rocks (think Wizard Of Wor) that the 2 gunmen have to maneuver through and hide in? There could be some sort of bag of money or better gun hidden randomly in the maze, first person who gets there wins? Or possibly a survival game mode that includes like water and food that they gunmen have to periodically grab in order to keep their health up? If that happened then the cacti could also weaken them if touched and then those animals would have to bite/sting multiple times to kill, otherwise they only weaken. I'm thinking in terms of repeat play over hours, not trying to over-complicate the game.

Great ideas people, thanks Some sound more suitable to Frontier when I write it but some will be in Outlaw Hill... lots of the ideas I had already thought of so good to hear others thinking they would be decent additions. Wrap around shooting already exists as a bug if you shoot from certain distances from the edge of the screen after picking up the bullet speed up power up (which is the only power up in the game at the minute)... you shoot the Vulture so the power up drops on your side of the screen... although the other player can shoot your power up before you can pick it up

Wrap around shooting already exists as a bug if you shoot from certain distances from the edge of the screen after picking up the bullet speed up power up Similar bugs aren't uncommon, which is seen on the Vecmania cart: your cursor will jump from side to side during the attack run on Dark Planet on Star Fire Spirits, you shoot a bird too close to the edge with Birds of Prey and the wings of the bird will appear on the other side from which you shot it, etc.

I have a wrap around bug in the game I'm working on thinking about leaving it as a "feature".

^Sometimes it can be best just to leave those in! I forget what they're called (Sphereoids?), but those things in Robotron: 2084 that get "stuck" in corners was a bug, but they thought it was so interesting that they left it in the game. Now it's somewhat of a trademark.

I've had some time to work on the single player mode which is inspired by Nintendo's Sheriff arcade game, here's a vid of an early build... youtu.be/TKEFV0NR-M0

I've got a good feeling that if this game captures the charm and playability of Sheriff, then it will become one of the Vectrex's best.
Good luck.
