For your information: I received my chosen price: (E) - THX!
(Now I have to find a controller I am willing to "sacrifice" :-) )
The aluminium overlay is kind of heavy for its size so you should be able to just place it ontop of the original overlay and it will stay in place unless you wave and flail your controller about when gaming. It is when installing the buttons you will need to put the controller under the knife of course. Didn't think about that at first. I can mention that full support and warranty is included with the prize kit, so if anything breaks or don't fit I will either fix it or make a new one. Good luck with the controller slaughter. :-)

I just saw the random prize drawing. Wow, Len won Bloxorz! She doesn't know that yet though. But she will tonight when she gets home from her after school activity.

Congrats to everybody who was a part of this. Unfortunately I ran out of time there, towards the end and wasn't able to submit any more scores by the deadline. There's always next year I suppose. Cheers

Congratulations to VectorX and Len to their random prizes! Stramash Zone is ready for shipment. Bloxorz Collector edition might take a while because Bloxorz is still under development and not released, yet.

^I was wondering about the latter, going "did I miss the release?" I hadn't heard. How many levels will the game have when finished?

Len knows she won now. I had put on my best poker face and just sent her the link to the video saying, watch this, I didn't win. Which is true of course, from a limited field of view. She became very surprised when her name came up. She didn't get it right away that she actually won. This will be her first own vectrex item. Up until just now, all vectrex related items in the household belonged to me. That all changed with the outcome of that prize drawing. A good father would get her a vectrex after this, right? I will see what I can do about that.
PS. Even though we live at the same address, we better make sure that the package is addressed to her and not me. She was the one that won, not me. I guess there is no real hurry to PM Len's shipping address as Bloxorz need to be released before it can be sent out.

^I was wondering about the latter, going "did I miss the release?" I hadn't heard. How many levels will the game have when finished? 32 levels are planned, see Bloxorz on Kickstarter. Start of October, Frank has finished 23 levels. Len knows she won now. ... Good idea to reveal Len's winning the way you did. That must have been quite some surprise. ... A good father would get her a vectrex after this, right? I will see what I can do about that. ... Are you sure that it's Len who wants another Vectrex? PS. Even though we live at the same address, we better make sure that the package is addressed to her and not me. She was the one that won, not me. I guess there is no real hurry to PM Len's shipping address as Bloxorz need to be released before it can be sent out. I'll make sure to pass on Len's address and not yours. It might still take some months till Bloxorz is released so I hope it's fine to wait for that prize.

It could be me wanting another Vectrex, but I don't think so. I don't have the mutated collectors gene it seems. I don't have to collect them all, just the things I want to use. So I don't have a second hoard of unopened boxed games or anything silly like that. I think that kind of thing just prevents others from entering the hobby from lack of supply.
However, since Len (and Moyu too for that matter) entered the competition out of her own accord, not because I urged her to and on top of that also did very well, it seems like a natural progression into the vectrex hobby to have her own Vectrex someday. Then again, that will most likely not happen until we have found a bigger place to live so she can get her own room.

The mystery prizes...In Vector War VIII we had two mystery prizes, i.e. it was not quite clear what the prizes are. Today it's the right time to reveal the mystery. The mystery prizes are a physical releases of Asteroid Cowboy and a physical release of Floor Is Lava: Producer and donator of these pretty cool and special physical releases of Asteroid Cowboy and Floor Is Lava is Malban . Malban started with burning cartridges and ended with a full physical release of both games. Malban sent copies to Peer ( Peer), the professor of the University of Pforzheim, to hand these over to the two students who developed these games as a thank you of the Vectrex community. Yesterday, Peer did the handover and as you can imagine the two students were completely surprised.
Malban had the boxes produced and the production and shipping of the boxes took very long. This is why the handover couldn't happen any earlier and this is why we had to keep the exact prizes in this Vector War secret for so long. Thank you all for your patience, thank you Malban for crafting and donating these great prizes, congratulations to the winners of these beautiful prizes and last not least: Another big thank you to professor Peer and all the students of the HSPF, especially andyi and volcanus, for their excellent effort!

Oh, damn. Great idea there, but now I already have to change the A. Cowboy wiki page I just put up the other day to add that part to the trivia that there was actually a few physical copies made (I'll just add it later when I do a review.) '

hello all , I am new to the forum. I love the idea of the vector wars, I am looking forward to competing next year. I was wondering though, if there is a reason that the web wars maximum creatures is capped at 20? there are more creatures to capture after 20... they are invisible on the main screen but if you capture one they do show up in the trophy room in between the original 20 creatures. its tricky hard to get one, I think ive gotten to 22 and ive no idea how many more are possible . is this something other people have experienced?
