I got used to Marine Fox instantly because it plays like Solar Fox. That's 'cuz it was BASED on S. Fox! Hence the lady with the sci-fi like helmet on (didn't catch that, did you? ). I like M. Fox better than S. Fox due to the power-ups and all. Plus it has sharks in it (dontcha know sharks improve everything!)! Actually, I only played it once today and it immediately caught on the main object of the game. I only played the 2600 version and seen the Jane commercial for many many years.

No scores anymore from my side for this year. Was feeling better today than yesterday, but no concentration or fast reflexes in the games. I played today long time Release and also Rip Off, to get more than 20'000 scores in Rip Off, but I failed. Whyever. Getting old, and not 100% healthy at the moment, and then no chance in these games... Sorry for weeping around a bit. Even if the Vector War is still running a few hours, it was as always great to participate, and to see, what awesome scores some players achieve. Or also that still new players join, or the childs of Vectrex families also join. And always great to see familar players every year, even if we don't do big small talk here or between the Vector Wars, but yeah, I just like the Vector War every year. At least something positive that not changes or dissapears. Also a big THANK YOU already now to hcmffm for organizing, doing the score tables (a lot of work) and everything around the Vector War. Could write a lot about the scores that some people reached, but my text above is already long. Just awesome results! Let's see later / tomorrow, who will be the winners :-) Happy Vectrex playing and high scores for the players who still are playing today :-)

Highscore list has been updated - see initial post. New Score code: "YOSHI" valid till End of VW XIV 6 p.m., 11 p.m. CET/MEZ.Old score code "CRASH BANDICOOT" is also still valid for one more hour. Please make sure to use the right scores code especially if you are a top 1-10 player. Three more hours to play...
___ @ Tony ( fruktodlaren): You're right behind Mans and it's just fair to let your prospective son-in-law win. @ Fredrik: Maybe I can score higher than you but then it's still 5 ranks down to go. Unfortunately, you cannot play and submit scores to get a lower rank. @ Stefan ( Chainsaw): It's a good idea to take a rest - I much hope that you feel better, again, soon. Great that you participated, again, and congrats to your top 10 rank! With top and faithful players like you it's worth while organizing the Vector War. @ John ( mozie), @peer: Nothing better to do than playing Heads Up soccer at the end of the Vector War. You guys really take it cool. @ Marc ( Vorkosigan): Another Pole Position highscore - brilliant! Thanks! It's because i seem to like hexagons which appears in both games This makes complete sense. I'll take this into account in next Vector Wars.

… and look forward to playing again next year and wondering what games will be selected. I will not write the words Soccer or Football here (which now of course is a contradiction in itself), but on the more serious side rather ask how many of this year's participants do not own a flash-cartridge and can play only physical releases? I think that it could be quite interesting to have certain bug-fixed versions of the original WT / GCE games in the competition. For example, a fixed Clean Sweep without the repeating ghost patterns at the end and thus without the need of a threshold score. Or the fixed Bedlam version with no stuttering and zappers working. Or even the brutal 50Hz Bedlam version. Or the Starhawk version with the improved analog controls. Or the fixed versions of Berzerk and Armor Attack? Likely forgot some others here.

Pika Pika Score PhotosBedlam 7000 8 y/o Pika Pika has been trying to qualify on a 6th game for hours today, he's getting tired and very stressed...I was worried it wasn't going to happen, but then his luck changed. He just can't get the hang of the fast spin on Bedlam.

@ Fredrik: Maybe I can score higher than you but then it's still 5 ranks down to go. Unfortunately, you cannot play and submit scores to get a lower rank. No worries, he understands that. And despite his longing for the Spoon, he is actually quite proud now to end up near rank 20 in his first tournament. My gratitude goes to fruktodlaren for introducing and keeping up the tradition of the fabled spoon, and for creating such an enthusiasm among young players. And Fredrik will definitely be around for another spoon, eh, spin next year Even if I failed miserably, that final game of Soccer was a worthy end of this year's tournament for me. I really had a blast this week. And ending up in my traditional rank somewhere between 6 and 8 is all I had hoped for. I will not do any more playing tonight, but I wish all those who are still in the games the best of scores and fun! Already my thanks to all participants, to the prize donors, to the programmers of the games, and to Helmut for again organizing the event. It is great to know that this week there were some ~30 Vectrex consoles around the world which were not gathering dust in some collector's shrine, but were being used for what they were created and meant to be: to be switched on and to be played in chase of highscores!

Again, I've mixed up scores. I've just corrected this and highscore list should be correct, now. mozie, Vorkosigan, kiwasabi, Malban, Chainsaw, Peer: Please note that top five ranking has changed. And please note that rule for resolving draws has changed compared to last year: If there should be a draw at the end of tournament between two players that can win the tournament or a prize, the number of games will be increased from 6 to 7 and then summed up points are compared, again. See initial post. ATM, kiwasabi and Malban have a draw but kiwasabi would win and would be 3rd.
