Starting at about 1:41, this looks like a Vectrex being played and displayed on it's side? Or is this just faked? The whole thing looks weird...
But then, I only speak English, so then I'm obviously missing something (can anyone translate?).

Looks like the image may have been distorted to look wide. I have no clue what he is saying, but maybe he explains it.

Yeah, because the speaker and the Vectrex doesn't sit like that either...weird

The mystery is simple, the video has been stretched horizontally. Look at his hand at the end when he moves it in front of the camera. His hand is stretched as well, just like the vectrex and its controller. He is speaking French.. Bonne journée pour une étiré Vectrex. Oui Oui!

Yeah I know he's speaking French. Just like to know what else he is saying, like if he was b. s.ing claiming that he's some kind of genius engineer that did something really odd with his Vectrex of if he admitted to the deception.
Good catch with the hand though.

Yeah, because the speaker and the Vectrex doesn't sit like that either...weird Ignoring the fact that the video image is distorted to look wider than normal, the speaker arrangement possbily looks different to what you are used too because there are known to be two types of Vectrex case with minor visbile differences. This is because the Vectrex was manufactured in two different places. Once is made in Taiwain and the other is made in Hong Kong.

So do the differences make one type of Vectrex more collectable than the other?

So do the differences make one type of Vectrex more collectable than the other? In my opinion, no not really. I'll see if I can dig up some pictures showing the extrernal differeces.

This is because the Vectrex was manufactured in two different places. Once is made in Taiwain and the other is made in Hong Kong. The carts have slight differences too depending where they were made: position of screw, pitch and number of ridges in the grips on either side, etc. All common GCE titles appear to be available in both styles of case though AFAIK.

I updated the Wikia on this. This is a Portrait-mode video that got squashed on Youtube's transcoder.
Its a normal Vectrex in a very bad video... (Lock Orientation to --> Landscape)

Oh, thanks. Another thing to take into account: video settings!
