It's only been a few days. I'd say give it a few more.

Well, it doesn't look hopeful. If you do email him again, maybe try linking him this thread so he can see that people are still interested in his games.

I think I had given him the thread addy if I recall correctly...
Anyway, guess I'll go ahead and spill the beans, although there isn't much to say anyway...
What the deal was (and it was part of the e-mail I left out) is that he said if there was someone he could trust in getting Spike's Spree/VecCaves out he would consider it. I said perhaps he could ask FURY, since he does Vec Sports Boxing. He hasn't responded (Mark, I mean, not George, as I didn't e-mail the latter about it).
Seems like Dondzila would be be a good candidate too, since he makes several other homebrews available on cart. It'd be nice if he took this on, since he hasn't had anything for several years now, not since Nebula Commander or so.

That's a good start I guess. If the ROM isn't to be released, I'd still buy a cartridge.

Same here. The games are supposed to be addicting. I don't know what VecCaves is exactly/I haven't played the original cell phone game it's based on but I have played 2600 Fast Food, and that's pretty addicting indeed Anyway, at least it's hopeful he's keeping a possible option open. (Maybe next year?)

If there is a rerelease, making it different to the original probably would be a good idea.

It would be good if he works with another of the existing developers to see a re-release of these games. As Mayhem said, maybe there can be something different about the release too if that is doable. It would be nice to be able to get these games.

Mr. Dondzilla seems to have mostly retired from Vectrex brewery, but he still maintains his online shop. I THINK WE ARE ALL VERY GRATEFUL FOR THIS. ... It is so completely awesome that Alex Herbert gave him permissions to make and sell Protector/YASI, so that anyone and everyone continues to have access to this amazing game, (at an incredibly reasonable price).
I badly wish that the other programmers who have exited from the scene would pass their programs over in this way. ClassicGameCreations.com seems like an eligible repository for Vectrex program in cartridge form, in cases where the original authors do not wish to distribute the code itself...
I especially regret that I may never have access to the best works of Vectorzoa.

He's busy working with Jersey Jack now, so at least he's still keeping alive another rare entertainment medium, being pinball machines! It is so completely awesome that Alex Herbert gave him permissions to make and sell Protector/YASI, so that anyone and everyone continues to have access to this amazing game, (at an incredibly reasonable price). Same goes with V-Frogger, Thrust and Nebula Commander (minus the A. Herbert part), as all are very good and cheap (plus they can all just be downloaded for free as it is!). I especially regret that I may never have access to the best works of Vectorzoa. I still wonder what the hell happened there

He's busy working with Jersey Jack now, so at least he's still keeping alive another rare entertainment medium, being pinball machines! That guy is a hero. I especially regret that I may never have access to the best works of Vectorzoa. I still wonder what the hell happened there Yeh, for me I completely missed it because he was gone before I ever tuned in. I do appreciate the sprite making program that is still available for download on his site. This little program seems to round out well with his body of work. He really looks to have had his finger on what was worthwhile in new Vectrex programming, what makes it interesting. Star Sling and Spike's Circus are both games I really really want to experience, (and I am somebody who HATES the Spike character).

It'd be nice if he took this on, since he hasn't had anything for several years now, not since Nebula Commander or so. I believe that all that is necessary for this to happen is for him to give John Dondzilla PERMISSION to produce carts of the game, and for him to give John the ROM. (Unless it is some special bank switched cart or requires RAM or something). Classicgamecreations.com will put ANY Vectrex ROM on a cartridge, so long as he has the permission of the author. He calls this a "custom cart" and I believe the standard charge is $15. As for changing the game(s) in some way, to distinguish it from the original editions, he could edit the program header to have a different title specifying "reproduction" or something. Or he could specify a different cart label (sticker) for these. Also the packaging would be different coming from CGC, and naturally there would be no overlay. ... Personally I'm not concerned with this at all, and would hate for it to encumber the re-release of worthy Vectrex games. But these are my ideas to satisfy the fortunate individuals who are "invested" in rare releases, as well as any programmers who may share that concern. I suppose it would require further arrangements however, if he (rightfully) wanted to share in the further sales of the game on classicgamecreations.com, with CGC charging an amount larger than $15. But trusting the ROM to Dondzila should not be an issue.
