Thank you very much, VectorX, for your summary of this year's PYVD! .. *Unfortunately this made the lowest turnout yet, only having 11 participants. .. I hope and think that the low numbers have nothing to do with he Vector War which overlaps with the Play Your Vectrex Day. Actually I'd expect the opposite: All people playing on 1st November for the Vector War also play on the PYVD, so two birds killed with one stone. The yearly Vector War just finished and number of participants was about the same as the last years. I had thought that the current 1.300 members of the Facebook group "Vectrex Fans Unite!" spilled participants over to the Vector War and the PYVD. But this was not the case at all and I have little to no idea why. Perhaps it takes another year till interested and dedicated Facebook group members find their way here.

It's unfortunate the number of participants decreased. I know I was one who couldn't play that day. Too much work!

The yearly Vector War just finished and number of participants was about the same as the last years. I think more people qualified than last year but I haven't looked to be sure.

I really thought more people from Vectrex Fan's Unite or Vectrex Venerators Facebook groups would have participated. There seems to be an influx of new fans through these groups. I explained my unforeseen absence this year in the Vector War thread. I had fully intended to participate and play, was looking forward to it, and then life kinda happened and slapped me upside the head multiple times all at once. Maybe I'll take a few days off from work next year and make doubly sure I can participate.

Should we even bother this year? It started out really decently but then participants declined; last year we barely hit double digits with only 11 people involved.

What if it is also announced in the Facebook group?

Someone can do that if they wish. It won't be myself though since I don't have a Facebook account.

I actually created an account solely for the groups as I don't really care to use FB. I don't know what the appeal is for the groups there, though. I hate how they are organized but there are developers that only post stuff there. So, I could post it there if you want.

That's fine with me. I'll see about letting the other big guys know (Vectrexworld, vectrex.co.uk) in the next day or so.

I don't like FB either but I am aware that I miss a lot of news, namely from coders...
What about changing the recipe of the "International play"? I think that we dont exchange so much ; I mean that for some of us, we have been knowing each other for years through our passion but this still remains virtual and superficial. Can't we try and stengthen our relations?

Would it be possible to show a worldmap where members (that does agree) would be located? Be easier to meet, create some local events...

I'm sure there are sites that do something like that.

Announcement: November 1st is coming, which, what does that mean to video game players? Are they going to play their Xbox? Their PlayStation? Their Switch? Heck no! They'll play their Vectrex, then report it to the Vectrex wiki ( vectrex.wikia.com/wiki/International_Play_Your_Vectrex_Day) or to VectorX at the Vector gaming forums ( vectorgaming.proboards.com/) as to what they played on that day so it can be shared with classic (vector) gamers around the world. See the wiki page for the rules. (Ok, sure, you can play any of the other aforementioned consoles or any others if you wish on that day, but don't bother reporting it to the wiki!) End of announcement. Anyone can be free to copy and paste the above anywhere, although I have a small announcement graphic that Helmut did a couple of years ago to go with it. I'll try to get it to work through Google photos later, or people can e-mail me for it if they wish. EDIT: yeah, e-mail me. Does anyone know anything about Google Photos? I can't get it to work. Or, just use hcm's link here (thanks to him for that):
