I normally participate and normally try to do something for the community. I wasn’t able to do either this year.

Luckily I was able to get in a few quick games of Royal 21. I wanted to go through Big Blue in honor of Vector War (as I had to pass on it for the second year in a row, unfortunately) but didn't have much time to go through all eight trophies.

November 1st, 2022: Happy International Play Your Vectrex Day everyone!
In this year's currently ongoing Vector War, due to a generous present which I was given by fmml and hcmffm , I was able to play "VeCaves". I like the game a lot, and it reminded me of one of my own projects, which I had started in 2019 and never finished. It is called "Cave Racer", and it was my attempt at writing a flexible side-scroller engine. It reached some prototype status, and at some point I wrote about it on the forum. Playing "VeCaves", I realized, that so far I had never released the "Cave Racer" prototype to the public for evaluation. Honoring today's event, here now it is:
Would be cool to know if this is worth completing and turning it into whatever type of game. Please read the "How to Play" and "Trivia" sections on the web page. There are two modes: aircraft and bat, and you can select between 8 different caves. Download section and online playing link are further below on the page. Ideas are welcome, but please note that this is written in C and almost at the frame rate limit. Not much room for shooting action anymore.
Have Fun!
Many Cheers, Peer
PS: And yes, today I played "Cave Racer" on my Vectrex

Sadly I have not played much (yet) - but I "played around" with one of my Vectrex for a couple of hours.
I tried building a new new power suply from a SMSP power device and some regulators. Till I found out, that the power supply was not suited ... now I ordered a new one on Ali ... and it will be several weeks before I continue.
I did "Vextrex" today - but have not played much.
How about you?

A Happy IPYVD to everyone! Peer has made his Cave Racer freely available (looking good, Peer! Didn't someone ask for a VecLifter recently). And there is more to play: Rocks ´n´ Saucers – binary freely availableThomas S. is known for his great VecFever cartridge. Not so much known are the individual games included in the VecFever cartridge which were also developed by Thomas. One of these thrilling games that comes with the VecFever cartridge is Rocks ‘n’ Saucer. Rocks ´n´ Saucer is a clone of a famous arcade game. Until today, only the lucky ones that own a VecFever could play Rocks ‘n’ Saucers. This year is the 40th anniversary of the Vectrex and Thomas has decided to make the binary of Rocks `n` Saucers freely available. This means that anyone owning a flashable cartridge like VecMulti can now download and play Rocks ‘n’ Saucers. For more information on Rocks ´n´ Saucers and a download link please visit: www.vecfever.com/faq/rocks-n-saucers/Thank you, Thomas, for providing your excellent Rocks ´n´ Saucers to everyone – this is really a great thing! Best regards, Helmut PS: Thank you to all players in Vector War XII for keeping this info as a secret. You can spread the word, now... PPS: Later tonight I'll play some games for the Vector War and will post this here.

Games I've played today: Cave Runner (flying through the cave is fun. Good that buttons 2 and 3 can be used to slow down and speed up the game - I guess this is for testing, only.) Spike Star Hawk Asteroid Belt Hex Rocks 'n' Saucers Save the Planet

^You two, let me know if you want me to add the stuff to the IPYVD page (Helmut usually does himself but I'm just making sure) and how Peer wants me to identify him if so (Peer? Hspfpj?).
I have a surprise with mine, as even though skill had a bit to do with it so did luck, as I definitely lucked out today. I'm going to head off to my e-mail to go work on it now and it should be up by this evening.

I've just edited the Wikia page of the IPYVD and added entries for Peer and me.

Unfortunately, I have a severe left hip bursitis and playing Vectrex is no on the cards for me today. I can hardly move.
