Tempest for the Atari 5200 has been completed and will be seeing release next week at PRGE! It will be available for purchase on the Atari Age store after that (apparently not a limited release).

Hopefully it'll work better with the standard 5200 controllers, unlike the earlier release of it.

I didn't realize that a version had been released before. Hopefully, this one works well with the controller although I think it has been designed to have trackball support.

Yeah I had played it at my local gaming expo a couple of years ago. I thought MAYBE it'd still work well with the controller (some games still do) but it didn't; it wasn't good for precise movement when you only need to move over one lane or two in a level to shoot something. And someone else on another forum complained about the same thing too before I had played it.

Well, the Jaguar version is superb! But this title has been floating around for about 30 years for the 5200. About time it got done!

For as long as I can remember the 5200 version of Tempest has been spoken in the Arthurian legend of a holy grail. I would probably relate it more to the Excalibur of the 5200 community. Hands have wanted to touch this cartridge since the first whispers of a rom exstistence. There were so many maybe's in those last few posts I thought I would join in about the Jaguar comment.
