One thing I was thinking of today is not a new release from Dondzila (not that I'd mind though!), but perhaps a couple bonus/hidden games on something: one, as he improved a bit with programming over the years, perhaps a clone of Millipede, as he already did the simplified version of Centipede. Maybe it doesn't need all aspects of the game (there were no fleas or scorpions on Vectrepede) but adding a few more would be nice (HAVE to have the DDT bombs, at least!). Also, Super Breakout with the variations to choose from, as he already did Breakout. And as far as a *main* game goes: well John, that'd be good too, at some point

Those sound like good ideas. Both Millipede and Super Breakout are fun games and if there is a code for their cousins, maybe programming the won't be as difficult.

I would like to see something like Atari's old LeMans racing game converted ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMMjVrp6d6E&feature=related ) especially since the Vectrosis controller now exists. The two buttons could be upshift and downshift. I played... tried to play that game at California Extreme and I got destroyed. The changing tracks are tough. Also, I think games that don't scroll would be great since they would benefit more from having colored overlays. I'm thinking something like Reactor or Demon or Dig Dug or Wizard Of Wor.

Yeah, I've always thought Vectropolis 500 on Vectopia should've been finished. And it's still fun as it is! (As long as there's at least one other player.) Also, I think games that don't scroll would be great since they would benefit more from having colored overlays. I'm thinking something like Reactor or Demon or Dig Dug or Wizard Of Wor. Spike's Slam Pit looked like it was going to be a Reactor clone. I assume work was stopped on that long ago but I could be wrong. A Wor clone would have to have some adjustments taken with it in order to not have a lot of slowdown and/or flicker.

There have been some great advancements in terms of minimizing flicker but, ya, that would probably be the main problem with something like Wizard Of War. Although, the faster red and yellow enemies would be invisible half the time, anyway. As for Spike's Slam Pit, that does look like Reactor! Too bad it ain't finished but, at the same time, I have grown very very tired of so many Vectrex games having either a name that starts with 'V' or having Spike as the main character so maybe it's for the best. Having a "slam pit" doesn't make much sense (sure sure, flying around inside a reactor core wasn't that logical, either, but it made video game sense) considering that that game seems to obviously be Reactor so just call it Reactor. And not Veactor or Vector Reactor.

I was thinking about the visible ones plus drawing the maze too, although there could be some clever way around that that I haven't thought of (like with on Vix that the screen just becomes solid when that part of the screen has been boxed off, which still worked for the game). As for Spike's Slam Pit, that does look like Reactor! I think that's what it is. It won't run on ParaJVE (has anyone tried this on another emulator to confirm?), it just looks like a static pic when it's brought up. I have grown very very tired of so many Vectrex games having either a name that starts with 'V' or having Spike as the main character so maybe it's for the best. And not Veactor or Vector Reactor. Picky, picky

Picky, picky Hahahaa, ya, you could say that. I'm also picky about homebrew packaging, I prefer the cardboard box style. With an overlay if possible. I like how Fury's new Warrior game is coming out with a black box vs. the standard grey grid one. www.furyunlimited.com/_sgg/m1_1.htmI mean, had The Crash not happened you could have expected Activision or Atari or somebody to start making games for the Vectrex eventually and they would have had their own box art styles. Maybe I'm biased, though, because I prefer the Sears Tele-Games black box versions of Atari 2600 games to the actual Atari ones so I'm hoping that if Fury does another cardboard box/overlay packaging for a Vectrex game that it will also be a solid color (doesn't have to be black but that would also be cool) like Warrior.

I doubt he'll ever do another overlay, but who knows?

It would be nice if someone did create overlays for the Fury games that don't have any.

I doubt he'll ever do another overlay, but who knows? Well, he made it sound to me like the first time is the bitch, once all the logistics and measuring and figuring out vendors and everything was hammered out the first time, subsequent attempts would be easier. Not easy, but easier. So I think the odds would be better for another box/overlay game coming from Fury in the future. If the effort was worth it, I mean, like for a game that would benefit from multiple colors or designed areas. Definitely Warrior was worth the effort to do and so I thank that game for existing so that Fury could figure out the kinks.

Good points there. You learn from the first time around (unless you're a dullard ) and things do get easier from there with more experience (hopefully...).

new nominations (i think):
clones: Tac/Scan Shadow of the Colossus (just kidding) MARBLE MADNESS!
... I suppose a lot of graphics would have to be simplified for a Marble Madness-like Vectrex game. If it was possible though I think the game could look great. In addition to being a fun and unique game, it has some cool 3D aspects to it, which I can't recall seeing on Vectrex previously. Part of that is the "isometric view". ... Perhaps Spike is sort of an isometric view, ...
.. Which reminds me: more platformer games! They were the defining genre of the NES era. The skewed 3D set up of Spike is interesting, but straight 2D seems a rich and unchartered territory for Vectrex. ... With the portrait orientation of the Vectrex monitor, something with a vertical path, like Donkey Kong, would probably be best - but should be a game where you continue climbing up through multiple screens to a boss or goal (like Kid Icarus).
And my most inappropriate idea of all: A TEXT ADVENTURE! I realize this would seem to negate the whole purpose of playing a Vectrex (vector graphics), but you could have some scenery and animation to supplement the text. Text just seems like the easiest way to get the adventure thing started.
EDIT: add SPACE HARRIER to list of clones!!!

Yeah I've always wanted Tac/Scan. I thought a Spike sequel would be cool, having several different screens, as originally (before I knew/played the game) I thought only part of the screen was shown at once, i. e. you climb to the top, then there's another screen with more ladders and such. Do something like that, have three entire screens before reaching the top of the building.
Yeah, more platformers would be good. A text adventure would be different. On a similar note, I've thought some RPG like Ultima would also be something to add to the library that's severely lacking.
