Looking forward to getting mine! I will certainly be reviewing it as well! You wouldn't be able to slip Warrior in there, would you?

Fury, had you considered producing an 'arcade quality' joystick with a similar layout to an original Vectrex controller?
I think they'd sell.

Yes, I have a couple of controllers planned for next year.

Nice one! Can you fix a price so as I don't have to get involved with all this ebay bidding malarkey? (And it might just be me, but I reckon it should be buttons first then stick.)

Okay, received mine on Saturday, and have had a couple opportunities to play with the Starblast. Here are some attributes for the controller:
-No joystick made VecMulti menu navigation impossible. Personally, had to flip between controllers to select a game. Not a huge issue, but a little annoying
-My favorites games for the controller are: Birds of Prey, YASI, and Rip-Off. Star Castle is absolutely awkward (harder to play?), however. The button placement is unintuitive for that game
-The controller is small, and fits into the hands nicely. It can also be turned and oriented in any way (like an Atari joystick) to provide a customizable experience. I was playing YASI with it almost diagonal in my hands
-The build quality is solid - the plastic George used is very similar to the outer casing of a Vectrex and the buttons are arcade-quality. The fire button is a little loose, and the black buttons are a little stiff, but this may correct itself with use
I don't know if this (quickly written) review is overwhelmingly negative or positive, but let me just say that I love having a no-joystick control option. Once again, it helps make the 'arcade' feel that much more authentic. Thanks for putting these together, George!

Thanks Desfeek! Very positive review I'm glad you like the versatility and build quality, and glad to hear that you're having a good time using Starblast! The buttons are by two different manufacturers. The red button is an actual arcade button built for arcade machines and for people who build multi-cabs at home. I think the preference here will differ from person-to-person. The controller is built to be fully compatible with the games, not necessarily multi-cart menus, or even some homebrew menus. If you pop in any of the GCE original cartridges (Star Castle, Rip-Off, Armor Attack), you are 100% menu compatible, as those don't rely on the joystick for navigation. With VecFlash (I don't have VecMulti), you have full menu compatibility for slots 1, 2, 3, and 4, up to four games, with no need for a joystick. Pole Position is compatible with Overdrive, but it is most likely a better play experience on the standard controller. Hyperchase is eons better on Overdrive! My goal is to list as many games that are technically compatible with the controller. No suggestion of a preferential button layout is being made because I had to make the controller work with as many games as possible (not just Star Castle, for example). You've noted that Birds of Prey, Y*A*S*I and some others are, in fact, great, possibly BETTER plays on Starblast, which is what I like to hear! Enjoy! George

All 9 of the other listed games are verified to be compatible. What I'm getting in emails is that the controller makes the following games even more fun to play: Y*A*S*I Birds of Prey Repulse Armor Attack Rip-Off Omega Chase Deluxe Vector Vaders Space Frenzy We all know that people don't like Star Castle with Starblast If there are any other compatible games that you guys know of, please don't hesitate to post them here. I didn't try all of the other homebrew games.
