There's another, bigger/gaming forum I can put it up on. That one got a few posts out of it but it doesn't sound like anyone has an iPad to play it on. At least it got some talk about it going though. I appreciate your help, but don't bother posting about it on any other forums until the update is up on the store. I will also be making a video of the game, in action, so people will be able to see how it plays even if they don't have an iPad.

The update to Xtreme Beam is now live on the App Store.. Earth shattering news for everyone on this site I know.. And here is the official Video Trailer: May not be as cool as the Vectrex commercials, but I tried to make it kind of over the top and like something from the 80s. I crack up over the "narrator" voice as it reminds me of the 80s pro wrestler, Jessie "The Body" Ventura. Xtreme Beam was a free download for a couple weeks, but not nearly enough people were making a purchase within the app to finance even little things, such as adding iCade support. So I had to change it to a paid download. Like I state within the app itself, if you want to see more features and games added to it, rate and review the app on the app store at least.. So far, I know one person in Belgium and one person in Italy actually like it. It has apparently made two people happy in the world.. That is a start. And thus far, no one has said they disliked it.. If they have, they are keeping quiet about it lol. I saw gliptitude's screen name on the app's leaderboard the other day, so I know he played it on his iPad. I'm sure there is only one gliptitude in the world, so its got to be him

NEW UPDATE AVAILABLE FOR XTREME BEAM VECTOR ARCADE!
NATIVE RETINA SUPPORT FOR THE VECTOR GRAPHICS!
-------------------------------------- XTREME BEAM - General Updates --------------------------------------
- Native Retina Support for the vector graphics! Vector lines are now sharper and better defined on the Retina displays. On Retina displays, the vector graphics look even more authentic than they did before!
- New Color Overlay option called, Hide Overlay! This new option gives the appearance of a color vector monitor, by making the overlay invisible, though it still tints the vectors and backdrop art with color.
- The Start button, on the control panel, now serves double duty as a pause/resume button. Making it possible to pause and resume the game during play.
- Joypad integration has been improved by using the latest Joypad SDK. The erratic, unwanted, pop-up alert during game play, from within the Joypad app, has been eliminated.
- Minor Bug fixes.
---------------------------------------- STAR CANNON - Specific Updates ----------------------------------------
- Homing mine AI improvements. Mines are smarter now when pursuing the player's ship. Mine ring riding duration has been slightly reduced. As Mine speed increases, the duration of time for which they can pass through ring segments, without colliding and attaching to them, is reduced.
- At the start of a game, the number of player ships has been increased from 3 to 6. This will help beginners to progress more easily and allow higher scoring potential for all players.

The next Xtreme Beam update will add iCade support!
Should be receiving an iCade cabinet for testing sometime next week.. Have never used an iCade before, so this should be interesting.

That really looks great! Nicely done. I wish you'd port this to Android! Thanks! In addition to the iCade support, I am working on making it a Universal app. As such, it will support the iPhone / iPod touch in addition to the iPad. Sorry, but at this time I don't know, if or when, it will ever end up on Android..

I had to stop working on Xtreme Beam, back in early September, due to some paying contract work. I just recently started to work on it again.
I finally got a Retina iPad a few days ago, the new iPad Air. I've redone all the app's bitmap graphics at Retina resolution. Which includes an all new control panel, with art, and a monitor bezel (for Star Cannon) that the current version does not have. Tweaked the Retina component of my vector generator class, and added iCade support too. Plus a few more changes and bug fixes.
Plan to submit the new version for review soon..
Once I add a second game to the app, it will then become Universal, supporting the new iPhone 5S, which I also obtained a few days ago.
I'll post more progress, as it happens, for those who are interested.

It has been a while since I had last updated STAR CANNON.. The recent release of the NEW AppleTV, inspired me to make it available for tvOS! I was anxious to see what the game would look like on a BIG TV! I have also changed the app to be a dedicated STAR CANNON app on tvOS. It no longer is designed as a multi-game app. Unfortunately, I simply have not had time to create any new vector games.. At some point in the future, I would like to make a 2+ Multi-Player vector game for the AppleTV. The newest version of STAR CANNON is now officially available on the tvOS App Store, for the NEW AppleTV! I have one of the new Steelseries Nimbus Game Controllers, and it works really well with STAR CANNON on the AppleTV. I have added support to tvOS STAR CANNON for all MFi Game Controllers. You can also, of course, use the Siri Remote to play the game as well. For the first time, the game now has an arcade correct, 4:3 aspect, virtual vector monitor. New bezel art was made to surround the new monitor. Dynalay now consists of seven different multi-color overlays. Color schemes only change when a new castle spawns, a ring regeneration occurs, or the player's ship is destroyed. The ring collapse explosion is now three stages, instead of the old two stage explosion. Making it a bit more lively and violent! The player's ship rotation speed has been increased. It should now be about the same as the original arcade game. Here are some images of the new tvOS version: When I have time, I plan to create a new Universal iOS App, based on this new tvOS app, that will run on both iPhone and iPad. I had to totally rewrite the audio code, due to changes Apple made with iOS 9 that caused some issues with my old audio engine. Also had to update the Xtreme Beam Vectorline Engine from the fixed pipeline OpenGL 1 to the programmable pipeline OpenGL 2. It ended up being more work than I initially anticipated.. That is why there is no new iOS version yet. Anyone who buys the new tvOS version will end up getting the Universal iOS version for free when it becomes available.
