I thought these Tomytronic 3D binocular games might be of interest to some here (like they are to me). Wikipedia claims "Released in 1983, it was the first dedicated home video 3D hardware.". I was looking at these online recently. They looked familiar, but I'm sure I've never played one. It's a series of battery operated games made by Tomy. It involves two LCD displays (one for each eye), colored by internal overlays and lit by natural light through an overhead window. A couple of them have stereo sound. Each game is it's own unit. Attached an image below for reference. On a side note, Tomy has made a whole lot of awesome toys over the years, many of them with extremely novel mechanical functionality and design. Attachments:

That's pretty cool! The second shot looks like a cross between Star Wars and the Battlestar Galactica Cylons

Hey, just stumbled upon this. I am also a fan of Tomy games and robots, especially those 3D games, owning three boxed ones. Trouble is, the other missing 2 in the series are really hard to come by these days and fetch incredible prices My favourite is "Skyfighters 3D", I love the colours and personally I think it is the best made, from box to console design (stereo sound!).

Just noticed this thread too... picked up loads of these too over the years (they were very popular back in the day in the UK).
I have multiple of Shark Attack, Thundering Turbo, and Sky Attack but never saw the others back in the day nor at any car boots/garage sales ever since.
They felt like they had amazing graphics (even though it's essentially lit up drawings), good loud sound, and played really well too... the '3D' feel worked well and they were pretty unique compared to the other things out there.

Hey i was just looking at these again on ebay and they seem to be much harder to get. The two that i wanted were like $20 or $30 each i think back when i first posted this. But now they seem scarce and people are asking more for them.

.. I also saw recently on that handheldmuseum site another Tomy game with VOICE SYNTHESIS, using a tiny little record for the sound effect!

What are the other missing 2 you are talking about ? I share you opinion about "Skyfighters 3D". I really like the Tomy games, especially these with electrical/mechanical parts. Please have a look at "rapetou33's favorite games" : there are mainly pictures of my Tomy games.

Where do I find your favourite games? Do you have a website?
The other 2 games I was talking about are
-Jungle Fighter -Sherman Attack
They´re considered super-rare. Haven´t seen them on Ebay no more than 1x per year. Usually fetch prices around the 400 USD mark.

Yes. Cosmic Clash. .. If you look at the entry for this game on the handheldmuseum site he shows a picture of the record inside. .. Looks like a pretty boring game with only one button to push, but i guess the sound is supposed to be really cool.
