Where do I find your favourite games? Do you have a website? The other 2 games I was talking about are -Jungle Fighter -Sherman Attack They´re considered super-rare. Haven´t seen them on Ebay no more than 1x per year. Usually fetch prices around the 400 USD mark. i have a jungle fighter for sale still boxed with instructions

These things were really popular in the UK back when I was a kid. I orginally had a 'Sky Attack' one, and bought one again about 10 years ago though not tempted to get any more as the prices are pretty crazy for the rarer ones. Jim owns the full set.

Yes, they were well-known in Spain, too. But though I am a fan of Tomy products, I never had one of them in my youth I have to say, few years after another good brand (Radica) made the very cool Air Force I-Combat: You can hold it over your head, includes good headphones and realistic fighter control with the pitch and roll joystick: a curious device with an altimeter/inclinometer driven by small weights. Not so famous like the Tomy serie (and surely not so expensive to get), but also interesting.

Looks neat. Radica! did quite a bit over the years. I think they were taken over by another company though.

Years ago I don´t know about Radica. This device still can be found in a decent price; mine is the 2000 first batch, but there was another run in 2006. Really I love the gameplay. The fire focus is fixed and centered, and you must float throughout all 3D space trying to kill enemy fighters (faster each level) Fortunately you have an "automatic center level" button, to keep basic orientation into the fire of the fight. Enemies (the bogies) can shoot too, if they are in the back of your radar. You are noticed by an alarm and count with scarce seconds to launch a flare (decoy) and start an evasive action. Very exciting, and hard because you have rockets and machine gun, but limited ammunition.. Now I´m reading, thinking this could be a good vectrex game too! XD (definitely I have to put my hands into programming)

Today I read they were acquired by Mattel, but wikipedia is not very complete here: there is not reference to one of the most amazing Radica "things" which passed by my hands:

Today I read they were acquired by Mattel, but wikipedia is not very complete here: there are not reference to one of the most amazing Radica "things" which passed by my hands: Probably because it's Wikipedia, wanting references. Plus sometimes if you don't write an entry correctly and it comes off sounding like an ad (even though all you did was list the products of a company) then it could be deleted.

It seems there were two Radica devices with the same shape: Air Force i-Combat and i-Racer (this one with a retroforce steering wheel) In the Tomy way, like binoculars held with the hands, there were: Sub-Assault, Tank-Assault and Stealth-Assault, doing a sea-earth-air trilogy. And returning to the gliptitude first post, the models launched by Tomy, several years before, were: - Skyfighters (AKA Dog Fight / Tandy Sky Duel) - Thundering Turbo (AKA Cosmos LeMans / Turbo Racer / Thundering Turbos) - Sky Attack (AKA Tank Attack) - Shark Attack (AKA Jaws 3D) - Planet Zeon (AKA Space Laser War / Space Attack) - Jungle Fighter - Sherman Attack I think these machines are a kind of hybrid between a tipical tabletop and the Virtual Boy. Worthy to take an eye on, no doubt. P.D. Although I always was a bit scared with the unavoidable "Prolonged use can cause eyestrain" message

As a tabeltop vfd collector, for some reason I never looked into these tomytronic 3D games. Watching a few youtube videos I can see they're very well made! Check out the lcd "sprites" they use in Thundering Turbo www.youtube.com/watch?v=7u8luKgrevkThose cars look amazingly detailed. And the sound is fantastic. I wish they had made these as traditional tabletops but they must have went with 3D binoculars to set them apart from all the other games.

Hey, I like a lot the VFD tabletop technology, too. A bit lazy to do a web or so, you can see listed some of my VFD machines hereThese binoculars are often using LCD with natural light source, or electric retrolighted, like in a later Radica design. Lot of colored overlays, and very sophisticated operating mechanism in combination. But yes, like a tabletop fan, used to the micro-arcade format, I always considered them into a separate category

Great-looking effect! Nice wipeout sequence too. It was good that the camera was able to deliver a good capture as well.

It seems there were two Radica devices with the same shape: Air Force i-Combat and i-Racer (this one with a retroforce steering wheel) Finally I found the Radica i-Racer, too! Features: Rumble steering wheel gives the feel of real racing. Digital headphones provide full racing sounds. Talking Pit Crew Chief gives driving tips, car status and pit stop alerts. Steering wheel features force feedback if contact is made with other drivers. 8 different race tracks. My auto-gift for Xmas

^_ Interesting. Is it a fun game? What are the graphics like? How does that controller work?
That does look like the Tomy games in some ways but I'm guessing it is 10 years newer or more. Do you know the year of production?
