Foam supplier for the box inners were REALLY slow... foam is in hand now (I also went in on the order for the Big Blue inners) so no longer an issue.

Yeah, just delayed a little. All going well, the first 100 orders should all be mailed out by Monday.

Mine package arrived today! Thanks for the careful packing Chris, Im almost reluctant to open that perfectly produced Nox box. Looking forward to game time this weekend! Same here, I almost didn't want to touch the thing! I must say, this is the way to do a Vectrex game. The box is perfect (not flimsy), it has two overlays, actual printed manuals, and I love the foam insert! Much better (though not as cool-looking) as the original formed plastic inserts from the original games. How expensive is it to do games this way? I mean, I have many homebrews, usually they "fall short" in that they either use the plastic VHS clamshell boxes or don't have overlays (or both), but it seems like this NOX game was manageable, he's on his second run of 100 copies, yes? That doesn't sound like financial disaster to me. Please please let this become the norm for Vectrex games! Hopefully people who make Vectrex homebrews can use the same suppliers used for NOX and we can have more games with overlays and the rest.

Unfortunately it's not that easy, as there have been many tries and failures in regards to making good overlays. Plus it depends on where the suppliers are and how much it'd cost to get them shipped elsewhere and the like.

True, but if he's figured out some of that then if you live far away but have a printer or whatever that can follow the same instructions and (hopefully) charge the same reasonable fees for the boxes and overlays and instructions that his printer did then that would be worth trying. At the worst, I can imagine being someone who makes a homebrew game and comes to some sort of an agreement with Binary Star Software to manufacture and ship the games, similar to how AtariAge sells some homebrews - a centralized organization assembling and selling the games after the parts are made by the same reliable group of suppliers. Certainly those guys would be more apt to offer better pricing if there could be a solid flow of customer orders, right? I'm not pretending it's easy or effortless, just that once the irritating sh*t is figured out it's always easier to do it the 2nd/3rd/4th time.

The instructions shouldn't be much of a problem, it's just mostly the overlays. Even though simple with few colors, supposedly the overlay for the limited edition of Protector ended up costing more than making the 100 run of cartridges (!). That was years ago though, and one might end up questioning the printing company too for that cost.
