Has anyone here had any experience in ordering the 72 in one mulicart? I order one over two weeks ago and sent Andy (andy@playntradeonline.com) an email asking him if it had been shipped a little over a week ago with no response back. Do these just eventually show up at your door? Not sure what is going on, since there was no response.
Thanks.....

I ordered one from him just last month. There is no confirmation of receipt of payment, not confirmation of shipping, no nothing but it does so up. So, just wait.

About a year ago I had been in contact with Andrew. Communication was nice and the deal (Multicart slim edition) was without any problems. Perhaps he's on holidays or is very busy atm.

Giving this one a bump, as I got an e-mail notification of a post on the wiki page of this product of someone asking if anyone had trouble with the cart working on a Vectrex. I told him if his Vectrex falls in the range of a certain serial number then it won't work on those, which I assume is the problem.
He wrote back asking if there was anything that can be done to get it to work. Is there? I assume not, but it'd be nice if I was wrong.

Hi friends.
I'm the person who has the problem about the 72-in-1 cartridge in a Vectrex.
I'd like know if the problem is in the Vectrex, is in the cartridge or it's a compatiblity problem. When I start the Vectrex with de 72-in-1 cart inside I can navigate across the menu but when I select a specific game I'm returned to the main menu. It's a infinite bucle.
I've written to Andrew Coleman asking about it two weeks ago but I haven't had any response... :-(
If the problem is a compatibility problem I'll sell the cartridge in eBay.
Best regards.

Andrew's 72-in-1-Multicart will not work on the latest Vectrex models of the series 31xxxxx or 4xxxxxx. So please check if your serial number at the back of your Vectrex matches one of these series.
At RGV someone posted a very similar problem (might have been you) when using a digital Sega joystick. I've just tried with a digital controller of Madtronix and it worked like a charm (selected and played Scramble). So I suspect your Vectrex console to be incompatible.
In the past I had been in contact with Andy every now and then and he used to reply quickly. I cannot speak for Andy but I doubt that he will make modifications to the 72-in-1 multicart to make it compatible with all Vectrexes.
Best regards,
Helmut

Which checksum do the vectrexes that don't work have? I made a menu driven multicart back then in 2007 but never officially released it. Since I'm releasing it in 1-2 weeks (just have to add mailplane, find a nice artwork and give credits to those who helped) I should propably doublecheck on the systems.

7ADB is the problematic checksum iirc.

7ADB is the problematic checksum iirc. I suspect that because this ROM is less common (especially in the US and UK) that the developers/homebrewers can't test for this. There doesn't even exist a later version binary which can be tested in an emulator or burned to ROM and tested on a real Vectrex. Also I know there was circuitry change too for these later ROM Vectrex consoles. Not sure if it was just a rearrangement of components to get rid of the buzz problem or if there are other small hardware functional differences too. For Madtronix there is a good chance he can test because it seems from correspondance with other persons I have had in Sweden they have the non buzz later ROM version consoles.

Cool 7ADB is my main Vectrex. Thanks! It even makes less buzz than my debuzzed ones. But then I'm relieved, my cart works. was 7ADB the same Vectrex that had problems with some other homebrewn games?
I'm interested in trading this 72games multicart against one of my 69 games multicarts, if you're interested Luigi, drop me a line through my website. I'm just a bit slow answering mails at the moment, but that will be fine again in 1-2 weeks.
So if any homebrewers want to have their games tested on 7ADB I'm happy to help out.

Yes, Vectrex consoles with the 7ADB checksum ROM were the problem for some other homebrews. The first version of Revival Studios' Debris springs to mind. This had problems because of that checksum and they had to do a recall.

Is there a first (or lowest) serial number for this checksum 7ADB?
I have a 3059118 (checksum 7931) spanish vectrex (made in Hong-Kong); and it´s buzzing, but much less than my american version (made in Taiwan).
I read checksum 7ADB (no-buzz vectrex) is for series: 4xxxxxx and 311xxxx but I´m not sure at this point, anything.
