.. I read checksum 7ADB (no-buzz vectrex) is for series: 4xxxxxx and 311xxxx but I´m not sure at this point, anything. I'd be VERY surprised if your 30xxxxxx Vectrex had a newer, incompatible Vectrex ROM. Perhaps the master of serial numbers, VectrexMad!, can provide more info.

I´m confused too with the different buzz levels of my two vectrex, but they both run 72-multi, having checksum 7931 and B796. So pretty compatible. The american vectrex is buzzing like a bumblebee, but the european vectrex barely buzz
It could be useful to know the exact serial number where the last rom (7ADB) begin, because a vendor can easily show you a pic of the vectrex label, but often he might not know the rom version. Important fact if you are going to buy.

Nice to know! We can deduce the change to the last rom (the total no-buzz vectrexes, and having some problems with these 72-in-one Multicarts and other homebrews) happened between my vectrex and yours serial numbers: 3059118 (7931 ROM) ... 3080700 (7ADB ROM) This close a lot the range... Much better than my previous information. P.D. For all vectrex owner: If you have a serial number vectrex into this range, it could be interesting if you post the ROM name

#3117194 7ADB here and it is a no buzz. Model is No. 3000-G1-EURO, Made in Hong Kong and I bought it from Germany but the warning message on the back is in Dutch. Must be one of the last ones or it hasn't been used very much, because the brightness rotary shaft is not more that 20 degs from its start point. On some of my other Vectrex consoles, the brightness shaft is rotated nearly all the way.
Centaura, Madtronix are both your machines made in Hong Kong? Over the years I have collected quite a bit of information on serial numbers. I'll see if I can make a little article on it for the next issue of my fanzine.

I think it´s a miracle, as very new CRT nowadays Congrats! Well, I bought another vec from France, recently; so here you have the information of my machines: USA Vectrex ------------ Model 3000 Serial 112215A Checksum B796 Made in Taiwan French Vectrex --------------- Model 3000-G1-EURO Serial 3044318 Checksum 7931 Made in Hong-Kong Spanish Vectrex ---------------- Model 3000-G1-EURO Serial 3059118 Checksum 7931 Made in Hong-Kong All three are buzzing, but taiwanese much more... I´m very intrigued about the taiwanese manufacture. I have to read notes of history. Maybe was Taiwan a first place to produce vectrexes, and migrating to Hong-Kong later? P.D. I´m looking too for the exact serial number where the cheksum 7ADB (no-buzz vectrexes) begin. It´s a very interesting datum for all. (actually, madtronix owns the no-buzz vectrex with the lowest serial number I know...)
