== Introduction
Shifted is a fast and challenging action puzzle game developed by Revival Studios and released in 2011. Shifted offers a survival mode and a challenge mode with a variety of tasks and handicaps. Playing Shifted is fun for me. And I like competitions. The idea of a world-wide Shifted competition came to my mind and now I'm happy to announce the Shifted World Challenge. It would be great if many people participated this contest. Join this Shifted contest and even win a prize!

Begin of Contest: 01. August 2014 00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT, UTC-4)
End of Contest: 01. November 2014 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST, UTC-5)

A.) Qualification:
You can qualify from 1st August till 25th October 2014.

To qualify:

1. Play Shifted's "Challenge mode" on easy. Take a picture of the description of challenge 20 and post it here. Use "Add Attachment" button for uploading images.
2. Play Shifted's "Challenge mode" on medium. Take a picture of the description of challenge 30 and post it here.

B.) Score submission:
You can submit scores from 1st October till 1st November 2014. Before submitting a score you must be qualified, see above.

To score and submit a score:

1. Check here what the current Shifted score code is.
2. Play Shifted in Survival mode and try to achieve a high score.
3. Take a picture of your score including the current score code and post it here.

Maximum score
If a player scores more than 50.000 points, his/her score will be limited to 50.000 points. This limit will keep all players from endless playing.

Score code:
Whenever you take a photoproof of your highscore, make sure you include a small paper with the current score code in the photo. Only photoproofs with visible and matching score code will be valid. Score codes can change from day to day, so make sure that you first lookup the current score code before taking a photo.


C.) Prizes
Players of the Shifted contest can win prizes:

Prize 1: 1 x Minestorm II cartridge
The player with the highest score (top scorer) in the Shifted - World Challenge will win a Minestorm II cartridge. If there should be several top scorers the prize will be drawn amongst all top scorers.

Prize 2: 1 x Limited Edition of a Revival Studio game
Any person that qualified and posted at least one score can win a Limited Edition of a Revival Studio game. If several persons qualify the winner of the Limited edition is decided by drawing lots.

- The organisator of the contest (hcmffm) cannot win a prize. If there are several top scorers except the organisator, the Minestorm II cartridge will be drawn amongst all top scorers. If the organisator should be the only top scorer, the Minestorm II cartridge will be drawn amongst all persons that qualified and posted at least one score.

- The player that wins the Minestorm II cartridge cannot win the Limited Edition.

D.) Miscellaneous
- After the Shifted competition each player is asked to submit his highest highscore to the Online Highscore page.

- By participating you agree that your highscore is submitted to the international Vectrex highscore page. Before the submission each player will be asked under which (nick) name the highscore is supposed to be published.

Price 1: The Limited Edition of the Revival Studio game will include game cartridge, box, overlay, and manual. The winner can choose from Shifted LE, V-Hockey LE, and Vectoblox LE.

Thanks, I hope the prizes are attractive enough to make many people join. If I could win these cartridge I would participate. ;-)

Cool! Actually, when I played Shifted the very first time for beta testing, I didn't like it very much. Then, I played more and more and really began to like the game.

I still wonder which (simple) rules could make the competition interesting over a longer period. ATM, there's the "1.000 points rule (i.e. your new highscore must not be higher than the current highscore plus 1.000 points.), but I'm not 100% happy with this rule and I'm pretty sure that I'll at least increase the number of points.
If somebody has a good idea please let me know.

I would have gladly joined the competition but alas I don't have a copy of Shifted. Maybe in the future we could have a game that is available as a legal download?

Luitoine: You can win endless fun, extra healthy adrenaline, and even a Minestorm II cartridge! The competition will last start on Friday but will last for three months. Lots of time to purchase a cartridge, train, and qualify.

When preparing the contest I was in contact with Martijn Wenting (Revivalstudios) to arrange the prizes. Also I asked Martijn to prepare himself for new orders for Shifted. FAIK Martijn got prepared and shipment should be executed quickly.

The first post says you can qualify until October 15, so there's still over 7 weeks just to qualify. Plenty of time to get a copy.

I recently sent out a few copies of the game.
I'm pretty swamped with work the month of august, but i'll try to have a few more copies of the game available to those interested in september.

Hoping to get back into new vectrex development towards the end of the year.
