Hi guys,
the first time in years I just tried the good old VecFlash of mine, but I can't bring it to work. It is an old serial version, and I can't find an appropriate driver anywhere.
I have an adaptercable (serial<-> USB) but non of the "new" drivers I found on the net seems to be compatible....
Any clues? Any old drivers lying around which I could try?
Thx
Malban

Not sure why you'd need drivers, more a case I would think you need the serial specific version of the VecFlash software? Can't say for certain, I only got in on VecFlash at the USB stage.

had the same issue with my old 16 Game vecflash. No success on Win7 or Win8. Got it to work on XP 32bit.

It is late at night and after a good bottle of Bordeaux, ... so not sure I have understood the right way. Anyway... I have a file named "vecflash serial" in which I have the following "readme" : "Operating instructions -
1) Connect cable to PC's serial port and VecFlash 2) Run the loader software 3) Switch on the Vectrex
Place your game .bins in the same directory as the loader, or put vfm.bin into your game folder
Richard Hutchinson - www.vectrex.biz"
I can provide with the files if necessary .... but let's say tomorrow... rrrrrrrrompf!!!

Hi Richards, yes the serial "vecflash" files is probably what I need!
Thanks

Hi Malban, this is not "Richard" but "Olivier" from France: I have actually pasted the "readme file" written by Richard though. Here's a link www.filedropper.com/vecflash-serialTell us if it works!

Nope.
Upon starting the "serial" VecFlash (WinXP 32) there appears a message box:
"The system cannot find the file specified."
I can click "OK" and then I can access the "VecFlash" program, which doesn't seem to have many settings - and is "not connected".
Anyways thanks for your help. I will wait till I get a new VecFlash and see how that works out!
Regards
Malban

Regards Malban Hi, I seem to remember getting this message a few years ago with vecflash and then discovering it was misleading, as actually the error was I was using the wrong com port, or the software could not manage a comport over com9 - not sure as it was quite some time ago.
