Hi, to all you "hardware" guys... Do you think it might be possible to use: Genesis/Megadrive Adapter
To connect a vectrex to a Vide running pc and let an emulated vectrex be veclink(2) connected to a real one? I am kind of intrigued by the idea, but I dont know if the electronic inside the usb converter is able to handle that kind of "switching". Any thoughts? Malban

Hmm... If it's configured as a dual HID joystick device probably not. It's probably only configured for input to the PC.
In theory you could use a USB to RS-232 adapter and convert the signals with a microcontroller at the Vectrex end. That would be the easiest route.

Malban, I am far from a hardware guy but based on the experience of the shutter glasses, the simplest solution may be to use a Teensy (kind of like an Arduino, just cooler).
The Teensy has built-in support to be pretty much any kind of USB device to a PC and has all the Arduino IO support you could want.
So the PC could even see a USB keyboard - easy to write a "driver" for in Vide - and the Vectrex pin(s) could be "tweaked" on the IO side. This is similar to what kokovec is saying.
