Greg of The Atari Times did a review on this unit, containing (obviously, hence the title) 12 Atari classics. True, it has the raster games of Centipede, Liberator, Missile Command, Crystal Castles and Millipede, but it also has the vector classics of Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, Lunar Lander, Major Havoc, Gravitar, Quantum and Tempest!

I came so close to buying this while it was on sale during Black Friday. Hopefully it will go back on sale over the Holidays. The only thing preventing me from buying it is the spinner not being free-spinning. I suppose I could hack it by using one of THESE. There's a video of one of the suggested MODS. Personally, I would rather use a microcontroller to step down the resolution and make it easier to make adjustments. Now all I have to do is convince my wife that I need this for health reasons

^Hah, yeah. The Spin Track does look pretty cool indeed. Greg gave the unit a B+ in his video, plus everything looks and sounds legit for the most part at a glance except for a few things, such as giving a city back on Missile Command at less than 7,000 points (say what?), the bad, pixelated look at Tempest, among a few other things. I'd like to have one of these too Or perhaps a similar one that Kurt Vendell made several years ago, although he might not've brought them back into production (forget the name of these although I'm pretty sure I have an old thread on them here). They were officially licensed from Atari and he probably was able to bring them to a cab without the minor screw-ups this company made.

At Fry's it's $349.99 this week(?), I don't think you need a promo code to get that deal, either.
