Info about cause of Long Dark Delay Power On?

Any info / guess as to what is bad with a Vectrex that turns on without display, without buzz, then after some minutes works and plays perfectly?

Also, do you think this is also what people describe as "works fine after warm up"?

Only thing I recall mentioned is the protection of the tube if there is no X Y signal.
This is what I could be experiencing.
I bought this years ago after buying a near new in box controller, realizing the "newer" controller was probably on the console, and then just buying the console. 
Very little use/wear overall on anything, just this delay.

The power switch is often the cause for this I guess, you can clean it but I don't know exact details but I think it has to be opened and it can be difficult to get back together. Someone else will chime in I'm sure.

It was the switch for me. I sprayed DeoxIT Pro Gold contact cleaner in the switch and exercised it a few times. It has worked fine since. That was about 2 years ago.

Knowledge of German is needed, if you want to understand what he says. But even without it - you see a "live" repair of the switch - what is necessary, how to dissmantle the vectrex and put it together and what you need to solder... Video is about 1h:

Having dirty or corroded contacts in the switch is like having a resistor in line with the power. This can lower the amperage which can lead to things not working properly.

I can't say that it is your switch for sure but it is usually the culprit for the problem you describe.
