Coolness! Someone on my Arcade preservation wiki put up a link to the Beaumont, Texas Gold Mine arcade segment where they were on a PM Magazine story (which was sort of like Entertainment Tonight). At first I was thinking that whoever put it up screwed up, since it seemed to center on another arcade called Recreation Station in the same town. However, later a manager for the Gold Mine showed up. This is double the fun, especially since the vector games of Asteroids, Lunar Lander, Tailgunner 2 and Star Castle were shown (along with a Battlezone cab). Since it went over the "video game fad" (uh huuuuh, fads always last FIFTY YEARS and counting!), it was also good to show Atari 2600 games and the Intellivison, along with the much more powerful Apple II. Funny how they were really off in predicting voice recognition though, that didn't happen for quite a long time until Alexis and all recently (still waiting on dishwashers to talk to me as well--not). And on a side note, I can't believe that host got away with what his initials were on Asteroids! clicky!

That was a cool watch. Yep, the "fad" of video games didn't last long. Did you not know we are still in the 1980's?!?

Yeah, yet I can't find a Vectrex anywhere (what's all this "PlayStation" and "Xbox" thingies? Both of their controllers have way more buttons than a Vectrex though!)! Nor arcades! But those went way down in the late 80s though...
