In case you have not seen this on Facebook. Packrat Video Games, LLC will soon sell also Vectrex cartridges: www.packratvg.com/More news about things coming later in 2014 (at least that is the plan): John Dondzil's Vectrex games: Space Frenzy Gravitrex Plus Vectopia Vecmania Spike Hoppin' All Good Things Patriots Vector Vaders And more Vectrex games that John did for Vectrexcarts. com: Nebula Commander Revector Protector/YASI Thrust Tour de France V-Frogger Moon Lander Vaboom/Vectrace Rockaroids Remix Spike's Water Balloon (analog) Berzerk Debugged Star Trek Debugged Polar Rescue Prototype (and possibly a few more from other programmers - this is still being worked on) Plus on the Odyssey2 side of the fence: 233-in-1 Odyssey2/Videopac Multi-cart (the same one that John produces for now). 2014 is turning out to be a busy year, so for anyone wondering about various delays in getting things done at Packrat, this is just part of the reason (and not complaining at all - just stating a fact). All this mainly being produced by one person, with thanks to the game programmers, and others who have helped along the way! Moving forward...

Yeah, we've had a thread going for a while in regards to it, plus a representative of Packrat (Ozyr) is also a member here.

Yeah, we've had a thread going for a while in regards to it, plus a representative of Packrat (Ozyr) is also a member here. I was not 100% sure if people were aware which games will be re-released then, so that´s why I posted the list. So sorry in case I spammed this forum with redundant information. ;-)

Yeh the list of non-Dondzila games is new to me and i think that those permissions had been pending for a while. Great to know that Protector, Nebula Commander etc will be available again. Everybody should have access to those games.

Pack rat also stated that he has permission to do all original games also if you want them on cart.

I think a lot of the vectrexcarts.com games are still in negotiation though. Thrust is the only one I've seen confirmed so far.

I hope they will do what´s on the list...will hopefully keep the prices of original issues down....
Cardboard box edition would be nice too.
I already contacted them, unfortunately I couldn´t subscribe to a newsletter on their page.

Got a response today. Games will come boxed with manual and without overlays. There is no newsletter at the mokent, but they would do one if there are enough interested.
I suggested they also do optional overlays.
Anyone interested in that might want to come up and ask them personally to be put on the list.

I think most of those games came without overlays anyway, but who know maybe somebody like "Vectrexmad" will make another fan project for an overlay like he did with his excellent overlay for YASI?

^Right, most didn't, except for a few hobby instances that you can just print out yourself if you have the means, like one that was done with Thrust that wasn't officially released with the game.

Hmm....is there a procedure that delivers the same quality overlays like the stock ones did?

Procedures vary. One can be seen here: Mark de Smet (who did Spike's Spree) has a page for how he did it here. I don't know if the procedure's the same though as I haven't watched Stefan's (or whatever his name is) video though, but if not, there's two right there.

There is no substitute for a screen printed overlay.
The transparency film and lamination method is ok. It does dress up the screen when you play however it does not tint well.
None of John Donzilla's games or the Vectrexcarts.com games came with overlays other than Protector (but only in the Limited Edition.) Every design out there for those games was done by a fan of the game and not by the developer. Print them out, make your own, it doesn't really matter.
I will say that heat lamination like it the video is not the preferred method. It tends to warp the material and since the bond is only with the laminnant itself, you either have to make it small than original so you leave that bond or it becomes bigger than original and doesn't fit.
