People are free to ask whatever they want for something but that doesn't mean they'll get it. I believe they may be betting on the recent Vectrex bidding frenzy that has not only brought out some of the rarest titles but also created record prices for some games. I always think its a shame when I offer a fair price for something that the seller really doesn't want to sell.

If he doesn't get any bids I'm sure you'd welcome him in changing his mind, but then he'll probably just relist it again at some point instead. (Ooooh, maybe "only" $800 will do it then. Yeah, that's the ticket [not].)
