I just wanted to see if anyone has played several of these games. Are they all pretty much the same? It would seem like a nice change to have the "basic" FB game where you fly through the pipes, then maybe change to an overhead view, possibly have other birds or something dive at you for something different, etc.
When mom wanted a new game for her iPad the other month, I told her about Flappy Bird, so she got something called Flappy Wings; bleah. It's pretty difficult: you barely tap your bird once, it goes flying too high into a pipe and your game is over, yet when you try to let it coast, it'll drop too far and hit a low pipe, etc. I couldn't get anything over five points for a while, then I got 10 and eventually 20 as a high score. The bird also occasionally poops (yes, you read that correctly) as it flies; oh gee! Way to sell the game to 6-10 year olds! At least the bird's color changes with every game, plus when you eventually keep on making points, you can buy stuff from the store, which I have a top hat for my bird. I hope the guy isn't making money off of it though since it's just not very fun. I've watched videos of other similar games and the birds on those don't have such a crazed flight pattern as the one on this game.

There's all sorts of versions, including for must about every retro system out there. I can't say that the game is one that has "hooked" me. All of the clones seem to be about the same thing.

I felt the same way. I think its popularity had more to do with how quickly it went viral--even my cousins were playing it. Of course, we all know that something doesn't necessarily need to be good to be trendy these days.

Cool, just found another vector version of it The creator/owner of this game loaner it out to me for the last Classic Gaming Expo. I'll ask about it again for the next California Extreme this summer if people are interested and will attend.
