Wow. I had never even seen the side shot before of the Japanese gentleman either, just the picture of the kid. And it's real interesting to see the Japanese symbols on the Vec too  How did it get here in the States, though, I wonder? I figured it would be overseas. |

It went for only $1000...whoever ended up with this must be a happy camper indeed! (probably not the best time to be selling)
The seller has a ton of Japanese import items. Must be a frequent traveler.

Thanks for updating this. Yeah, possibly not the best price for the seller, but that's still a damn lot for a gaming console though!

This is true.
However, if I had the money, I would have easily paid 2 grand for this - and I would have been happy.
For items of this caliber, its really up to the market at the time of sale - who is legitimately interested, and who has available funds. Really, who else can you think of (with actual income to spare), that doesn't already have a Kousokusen? There are maybe 200? active Vectrex buyers (judging from homebrew sales) on the market at any given time and only 4-5 of them are looking for specific items such as this. Between them, who has the most money? (Basically what this auction asked)
Pure speculation; but I think there is some merit
