Again dear programmers,
started to jump into learning how to program the vectrex and tried out the VecMulti card for directly uploading binaries. It works fine even using wine under ubuntu. But after uploading a first program I can not do any further updates unless the console is switched off and on.
I though about short circuiting the RESET and GND pin on the MC6809 but this supposedly will not do much more that the reset-switch on the front-side which also does not reset the system such that I would be able to upload another program.
Has anyone every come across this problem and solved it?
Another minor thing is that my VecMulti does not display any welcome-screen if in development mode (with the card removed). Nevertheless uploading works. Do I have an outdated firmware? An could the firmware be changed such that the vectrex resets after another upload?
Regards,
Thomas

I think his older product, VecFlash, is said to be preferable for development, because it is easier and faster to re-flash.

Richard was kind enough to let me have a look at the protocol used for the binary upload to a VecMulti cardridge. For those who don't want to use the Windows-tool, you can now enjoy the beauty of the command-line version, in particular under a posix system. Here is the code: sourceforge.net/projects/vecmulti/usage: vecmultiupload DEVICE BINARY example: vecmultiupload /dev/ttyUSB0 demo.bin Might also be nice for educational purposes in case you want to include it into a Makefile or even into your IDE. Cheers, Thomas
