I guess there is a socket for attaching a USB cable or how does it connect to the computer? I couldn't really see the physical item in the video. I guess it's just currently hidden behind a normal cart shell.
I wonder what the price will be on this and what sort of stock they will offer.

Hi, since my friend let the cat out of the bag I can confirm that work on my VecFever hw is indeed finished, functioning prototypes do exist (and he obviously has one) and a first batch of the release version is being produced for testing of both the final pcb and manufacturing process. This is a project that precedes the game by quite a while and I have been adding features constantly which is why it ballooned into such a massive project. The feature list is correct, probably incomplete but the major things are all there. Thomas p.s. gliptitude - yes, there's a usb socket. If the VecFever is powered only by USB it behaves just like a USB stick, if it's powered by a Vectrex it is in the normal mode running a privileged cartridge (the menu) and a user mode cartridge (everything else) side by side.

Some of the same questions I posted about Vectrex32 that also apply to VecFever.
Will VecFever have hardware ports it is not using? General Purpose I/O? Serial? USB (Second USB)? Ethernet?
About the last question, it's tied to possible Future IP connections. Any plans to support linking (two or more) Vectrex over Ethernet providing a documented method using such an interface? If so, will an IP stack be available to configure? How about with hostname and/or DNS configuration for connection to other Vectrex, and computers running an emulator?
Remote connections and/or control can also be useful for people running one or more Vectrex for use in other creative endeavors. Artwork displays of a technical nature, museum displays, commercial displays (clubs, eateries, bars, coffeehouses, store display windows) decorating using classic electronics as part of their theme.
Such a connection might even include a future software patch to allow for older titles that already link Vectrex to communicate via a possible VecFever method of VecLink. Similar in thought to the way some titles have been patched to save high scores.

This is simply amazing! It's like, "So, I just invented the Atomic Bomb of all things Vectrex... it releases next month. Two things came to mind that I'm too busy to link, but: Any "Mind=Blown" .gif (well, probably just about any, this IS the internet we're talking about here), and the Futurama "Shut Up And Take My Money" meme .jpg A very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year indeed! ^__^

So, It is the end of January now, Is it still being Beta tested? What will the price be and do you plan on selling it directly or will you have a US distributor? If you go for a US distributor i recommend PackRat Games.
I can't wait to get my hands on one!!!

Hi,
just a quick status update: the firmware itself has been finished around Christmas, although the menu(s) can be updated afterwards anyways. The pcb underwent a few iterations, mainly so that it fits perfectly in a 'normal' Vectrex enclosure (the ones I've got (original, several repro ones) do differ a bit) and the last, current one really seems to be perfect. No problems have been unearthed by testers so far, and it has been used on dozens of Vectrex units so far (at least 20 by me alone). So that's good.
There are still problems with getting the USB-opening into the case by the local company I've tried to use for the laser-cutting until now. And I really didn't like the printed labels initially so a completely different, very simple b/w backup-redesign has been printed. This one I do like a lot actually so I'll probably use it.
So.. all hinges on the cases in the moment,
Thomas
