Yeah, that's odd. But after nearly 30 years, who knows what could have happened

I've a couple of original controllers. One is still good as new but the other has gone like the one mentioned by George. The flex on the pair of the seem to be of a different grade/quality. Perhaps the one that has gone spaghettified was a later cost-saving cord?

Is there a proper procedure to "recoil" the joystick cord?
I recently bought a MB joystick and boy is the cord all goosed up.

Overstretched Coil Cable. When overstretched, the internal wiring shifts about and makes a dogs' breakfast of the cable.
Short of "steaming" the darn thing and putting it on a Mandrel, there is not much one can do.

I thought the spiral cable was the norm... all my Vectrex controllers are like that.

I thought the spiral cable was the norm... all my Vectrex controllers are like that. Oh that is the norm but I think it's the fact that the cord was quite stretched what Fury was pointing at. Mine are still pretty well coiled up as I don't stretch the controller a lot while playing.

I had to google Voltron... new one on me, that. Some kind of transformer guy? I was thinking more along the lines of Inspector Gadget. (You may need to google that.)

LOL No I know who Inspector Gadget is. LOL Voltron is not a transformer but a group of robots (lions or vehicles) who merge to form a large robot. "Form feet and legs, form arms and body/torso" are key phrases when forming Voltron.

Voltron was kind of like the predecessor to Power Rangers though Voltron fought more in space and the pilots didn't do that much fighting themselves. Sometimes we take for granted the fact that somethings were such a big part of our childhood or culture in one country but other countries may not have experienced the same popularity.
