I need your bent, cracked, scuffed and stained original Vectrex screen overlays!
You would be contributing to an interesting project. I am working with a screen printer friend of mine to figure out how to make quality Vectrex repro (and homebrew) screen overlays.
The printer needs the old donors to experiment with, to figure out the appropriate ink to use and also to source the new material we'll need for fresh prints.
I'd pay what we agree they are worth. Eh, donated overlays would also be accepted.
Message me directly or post in this thread. THANKS!

Hmmmm, would you take one broken in two? My Solar Quest overlay is in good shape, except for being in two pieces ;D I can send you a pic of how it looks, but if it has to be in one piece, then never mind.

Yes I would love to have the broken in two overlay. I wouldn't pay much for it though.

No, it wouldn't be sold for much at all, just a Paypal reimbursement for shipping, if you even want to do that much. If you don't have a Paypal account it's no big deal, I'll just send it anyway. I'll see if I can get a mailer for it today or tomorrow; it's getting pretty dark out like it's going to rain, so that would delay getting that since I would have to walk. Other than that I would probably have it out to you by this weekend, probably

No progress to report on the overlay. I gave the printer the broken Solar Quest overlay, I suppose about 2 months ago now, based on the dates in this thread. Have not heard back from him.
I'm not rushing him because I'm still working on the overlay design, so not ready to print yet anyway. What I want to hear from him is that he has sourced the materials and inks and apprehended the printing process. But I won't be pressuring him for that until I have made some progress of my own... I've also never held a homebrew Vectrex overlay in my hands before and I'm anxious to get Warrior in my hands soon, for some reference.
Heh, I don't plan on making many status reports though with this project. There may be some official teaser announcements along the way. But I think it will be best to withhold most details until the actual release. Will make a more exciting debut that way I think, and also avoid any disappointment over broken promises if we're not able to do everything we've considered doing along the way.
**EDIT: I could still use damaged donor overlays BTW.

It would be cool if high quality overlays can be reproduced for the system, including homebrews. The currently available repros are very nicely done and of good quality, but I'm discovering that the color intensity isn't strong enough and they don't colorize the games as well. But I rather have them than have none.

Sure i might be interested in the damaged scramble overlay, if price is right. Was just looking at your other overlays for sale also. I do have a Hyperchase box for trade, it is missing top flap though. Otherwise fairly clean as i remember...

LOL...I actually have a hyper chase box but mine also has the top flap torn off...small world right.
I really don't want much for the damaged overlay...shipping plus a couple bucks for the trouble. Since you have a US address I can probably put it in your hands for $5 shipped or so.
