YES! Vec-Man: 191 Nice score!!! I think you also just pushed Malban into 1st This is what I expected everyone to do today. Lol. I think Malban already had first. This will probably drop me lower.

Yes, thanks Helmut for putting on a great event and to all the participants for the friendly competition.
This year I have a different standard joystick with a button 4 that doesn't need such a firm prod to engage, it helped me a lot.
The takeaway of the event is that you've gotta be able to max out some games, else you're toast! Malban maxed out 4 games, making him tough to beat, but it was possible - well done to him!

Thank you, Helmut! It was a lot of fun. I have learned a lot more about a few games than I ever thought I would. Congratulations Malban. I knew I wasn't safe without a Star Trek / Star Castle max. I have a few years to practice them now I suppose. Thanks everyone for the enjoyable (and tiring) experience.

... hcmffm Not that it will change much I think... but you didn't seem to count my Cosmic Chasm score. Man, another mistake on my side. Looks like I get old. :/ Or perhaps I just need a good sleep. I've corrected and updated the highscore list and the final ranking above. Actually, your excellent Cosmic Chasm score (Wow!!) did make a difference: You climbed up the ranking ladder up to 5th rank and coleco1981 is also third, now. More tomorrow...

Never did thank Helmut for putting all games (except for one) into one nice little package to download, even though I only needed Vec-Man (downloadable from its page though) and Veccy Bird (better than having to sign up for an account I might not use in how long). As I've had this forum for a little over eight years now (hard to believe), occasionally I'll figure out something new to do, just like how I only just thought with last year's War that "you know, with all the work and all he does, Helmut should get a karma point for that". Because I don't know how the hell he's able to hold these contests while working and all (although staying up late helps, but sometimes he has to [literally] pay for it ). So, as the saying goes, I ask people to "tip the bartender" by clicking on the Give button under the Vec rep underneath his post count at the bottom of one of his posts or when you click on his profile. He definitely deserves it.

hcmffm To resolve the 3rd place draw, try you could try changing the scoring range from 100 to 1000, it'll probably give a least significant digit difference.

Congratulations to all winners, and greetings to all players. Special greetings to the "old" players from the last years and last Vector Wars :-) Even if we didn't talk or write a lot to each other during Vector War, I very like seeing you every year again. Unbelievable, but Vector War and seeing you again and playing Vectrex is one of the rare highlights every year in my life. So thank you to you all!
Was a lot of fun again this year.
-> Malban, cool, now you will get the aluminium cartridge shell that you wanted so much. I am happy for you :-)
-> Thanks to hcmffm for organizing everything!
-> PS: I like the new ranking system - I think it is better than the old system? (My opinion...)
-> Great to still see new software / games for a gameing console from 1982... Thanks to all developers, and thanks to Peer from Hochschule Pforzheim.
Maybe I could continue writing a lot, but time to go to bed now (2:45 a.m.)...
VECTREX RULEZ !!!

Thank you all for your kind words and accolade! Last night a warm VecRep shower came down - conjured by VectorX . Thank you all and especially you, Darryl, for the words and this appreciation! Most of all it makes me happy that people of every age had fun and enjoyed playing Vectrex games and competing in the Vector War. The drawing of the random prize will be latest next weekend.-> PS: I like the new ranking system - I think it is better than the old system? (My opinion...) Good to read. ATM, I wonder why I didn't change the system much earlier. Again thank, D-Type , for suggesting this change and help and info to get the ranking system flying! hcmffm To resolve the 3rd place draw, try you could try changing the scoring range from 100 to 1000, it'll probably give a least significant digit difference. Right, removing the rounding would resolve the current 3rd place draw. But for this year I'll stick to it.

Me, Moyu and Len all had fun during this year's war. Some games were much harder than they first appeared to be. HyperChase was impossible for us. Space Frenzy and Star Castle we had never played before.
For me as a "young old man", it was nice to see that many younger talents join in this year. The vectrex community needs young blood to not die and fade away into mossy collections only.
The alu shell is ready to be sent to whoever chooses it. It is branded, test fitted and taken apart again. So it will be easier to populate it with a PCB for the new owner.
I will try to have something to donate to the prize table for next year's war also. I have a whole year to think of something cool.
